Roger Rabbit, as a character, fits in very well with his known contemporaries, and when we see him in his own cartoon at the beginning of the movie his antics feel natural to the cartoons of the era (though admittedly I feel the actual production value of the cartoon itself is a bit unbelievable - it has shading and dynamic camera angles that do not align with how cartoons were made back in those days, as we see from the Goofy short later on).
