>6 months ago, working on a scene in my Techpriestess story where she's captured a Chaos cruiser
>Bing randomly spits out a really cool design of a ship featuring a double-skull prow and a sleek hull covered in gothic spires
>doesn't match any canon 40k ship because Bing is retarded, so I fluffed it as an ancient ship from the 35th millennium and just went with it
>surely this won't be a problem later on...
>fast-forward to now, the climax of the story includes a space engagement where that ship needs to be viewed from multiple angles
>Sora completely fails to extrapolate the shape of the ship from any angle other than the original uploaded Bing image
And that's why I spent most of the weekend creating a custom 3d model of a unique 40k cruiser instead of finishing writing the chapter. Presented for your edification, the cruiser 'Pitiless Blade,' showing the reference images input in Sora paired with their respective outputs.

So, I fear I may have gone entirely insane, for a sane anon would probably not have done as I have done. I hope that I will one day finish the story that I have started, but who can say for sure, when I feel myself drawn irresistibly towards these sort of vain prompting experiments.

But, anyway:

Yes. Yes. You're playing a rogue, it's going to be ass anyway.

What hot garbage are you making that you would think a subclass is a strict negative?
>>
>>97346764
There's no option to not take a subclass, but they're also all entirely free, so it's not like it's gonna be a downside to whatever you're doing.

And there are non-PHB subclasses for most things, but you'd probably have better luck asking your DM for what books he's allowing, because some of them would require conversion.

>give a DM much to work with.
I like backstories like this because I really wish DMs tried to "work with" my character less. I have no problem with narrative heavy games (used to hate them but I got used to them because my group loves them), but I do chafe when a lot of that is "here's your state mandated story arc where everything is about you and based on your backstory" instead of the characters getting into hijinks based on what they actually do *during* the campaign.

>Dead Drops
I have this one and I genuinely find it a really interesting book.
Jack Frost sounds amazing but it's also sort of a nightmare of moving parts due to the sheer size of the supporting cast and two time periods you have to juggle if you're going to try and run the entire thing but the other adventures are more manageable and very worth looking into.

>OG Delta Green combines the greatest hits conspiracies from the last century
>nu Delta Green is focused on shallow contemporary stuff

So what modern conspiracies do you suggest they include if they’ve already exhausted all the material, hotshot? Pizzagate? Qanon? Cults that turn college grads trans? What exactly is deep and clever enough that it should make into modern Delta Green?
>>
After a nightmare I had last night, I've come to a conclusion that zombie media has been doing it wrong. Zombies are way WAY more fucking terrifying when you can't tell someone has turned until you interact with them. Bonus points if they hopelessly cry for help early on during the infection.
>To avoid friendly fire and to avoid hiding from help you have to make yourself known to potential threats
>Anyone sent in to clean up the situation is much more likely to shoot first and ask questions never
>Mercenary responders can be willing to even kill each other to claim killed competitors as zombie heads taken which puts you in crossfire and endangers any well-meaning responders
Also exploding zombies need keratinous skin growths for shrapnel spikes.

The zombie film series I watched in the nightmare was scarier than the shit in the nightmare actually trying to kill me.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online:
https://www.trenchcrusade.com/rules/

They used to be split between the website and the discord, but no more. For posterity's sake, the old mega will still be kept active even if it's unlikely to need updating: https://mega.nz/folder/70QH0BBa#Eg-blxYQKkY_C02wErnFTQ

Loving playing Snotlings so far. I love having a swarm of the 'worst' players with the lowest strength, worst armor, and a only a sluggish 5 movement. I love being able to reliably dance through defensive screens, attempting fingers crossed throw team mates and bombs, and swarming downed challengers to mercilessly foul. An okay-ish system that is way more fully of arbitrary game logic about what a character can and can't do based on randomly earned metacurrencies and video game-y attempts at "balance" through likewise arbitrary restrictions on what characters can or can't do.

Some people like it, others don't even care it exists. CR/Darrington got their fans to buy it, and then made a bunch of retarded excuses for why they won't be using it for their main campaign after they already sold it to their fans.

That both seems unwise and against the lore. Without infantry, who's going to hold ground and screen the tanks against the feral hordes of 30-50 astartes? Without tanks, how are they to reach their objectives without being bombarded to smithereens or handle hard targets? To me, an ideal solar aux force, or really any force of normal humans in Warhammer since they play pretty similarly, would be something like 25% infantry (including command elements, 15% artillery, 60% tank in points.

GURPS is a modular, adaptable system, capable of running a wide range of characters, settings, and play styles, with a level of detail varying from lightweight to completely autistic.
Optional rules allow you to emulate different genres with a single system, or even switch genres within a single game.

A nearly complete archive of GURPS books can be found by using the image. Never post direct links to the archive anywhere in plain text.

If you're wondering where to start:
- The Basic Set covers everything, including a lot of optional rules you probably won't use.
- A genre guide can be found in the archive, under Unofficial/GURPSgen. It tells you what extra books and articles you may find useful for many common genres.
- How To Be a GURPS GM is a good read even for players.
- GCS (gurpscharactersheet.com) is an excellent character-builder software, with page references to all the books and the option to export to both Foundry and Fantasy Grounds.

Thread question: What are some systems or you would like to include or see included in a campaign, but haven't been able to? They don't have to be the main focus of the game, having them only as something on the side is okay.

>sentences and paragraphs broken across columns and pages even if there's enough space for them to not do so
>column headings awkwardly wrapped and oversized
That looks absolutely atrocious. I'm pretty sure I could feed a LaTeX rough into a random scientific journal format and get better results. Never attempt layout again.
>>
>>97345467
The benefit of EPUB/HTML/XHTML is that you can manipulate it easily, without having to spend a zillion hours/dollars on laying it out in Adobe InDesign as SJ Games currently does. It's a "sane default" that can be tweaked easily if you really care about how it looks.
>B-but it looks ugly!

>sentence and paragraph breaking still all over the place
>column headers still break in the middle of words instead of on the spaces between words
>tables still break over columns instead of trying to remain contiguous
You have fixed exactly nothing. It's really quite impressive how much nothing you've accomplished by changing the font size.
>sane default
A sane default would be building the content in LaTeX, to leverage its ability to take your content and drop it directly into a pre-prepared document formatting template with minimal work. There is a reason scientific journals use it to concatenate papers from multiple different authors.

>Deshreti Prestorite Church: the holy church of the Red Sands split from the Apostolic Church fairly early during a doctrinal dispute. The Godhead, a concept abandoned by the Apostles for a more angelic or even archonic interpretation of the high wills, believed in the words of Father Prestor. God, according to the Deshreti, can be broken into three portions with each embodying different concepts of the divine will: the Creator/Demiurgos, the Lord of Heaven/Pantokrator, and the divine force that lies within all man if they chose to be saved. Angels tend to take a backseat in Deshret sermons with most priests focusing upon God himself and the wonders of creation.
>The Prestorites were brutally subjugated by the Zaranim who kidnapped many women and boys and left the church on life support for many centuries. The Great Crusade brought an end to the Zaranim and the reign of cruel Sultans. The Crusading Orders formed a grim alliance with the Prestorites who saw their form of worship opposed to the reign of the Angels which succeeded in revitalizing the Church (a few forced conversions at the point of a sword helps with that) and brought upon a new era. The Ghazi raids are still an ever-persistent threat with Mujahedeen attacks being fairly common.
>In addition, tensions are growing between the Patriarchs and the Apostolic lords who aggressively hold onto their power long after the fall of Zaranism.

The Kingdom of Krieslend
Religion: Apostolic
Culture: Crownlander
Ruling Dynasty: von Lohengrin
Demographics:
>7% Imperial
>13% Outremer*
>75% Guntharran
>5% various nonhumans
A brief background: the Holy Grail Empire, famed for its many knights and a strict code of chivalry, leaped at the chance to join the First Crusade. Why? The Knights of the White Stallion have a rite of passage not necessarily far off from the Hajj of the desert raiders in which they search for the Holy Grail. While the knights failed to find the artifact, they did manage to set up a foothold that only grew with succeeding crusades in the following centuries. Proselytization of the natives succeeded but only due to the presence of the Guntharran Gregorian Church which was more approachable for the Zaranites.

Tension has risen with the Guntharrans who are increasingly indifferent or even resentful towards their 'saviors' as the Zaranim are now a bunch of sweaty desert nomads and the non-humans safely deposited within their ghettos. Non-humans are often kept as slaves with the sole exception of the Gnomish Banking Clans which essentially run these ghettos as personal fiefdoms with debt peonage becoming an increasingly valid form of servitude. Gnomish peonage is a better lot than getting worked to death by humans after all... Davidians, as always, are blamed for most of the kingdom's problems. Imperials do view them poorly after all.

Ill give that a try, I just wanted to be able to see the bottem with skulls and what not. I fucked around with 3d printing for so long I just really didnt want to have another liquid resin mess to clean up and didnt know if there was an easier alternative or somthing to pick up at flgs. Think blood angle red contrast would do well with a light coating?
>>97346463
Weather and patience willing. Last time I tried acoustic resin setting, my item was covered in debris and knocked over by small animals (I live in the woods) and was still tacky.

>I can work from home
That's not meaningful on it's own as a statement.
I too work from home, and I couldn't possibly be gone for 3 days in a row because the cattle would be starving.

You can put it inside, there's this thing called a window that doesn't block the UV spectrum of sunlight at all.

White Wolf died. But where's the replacements? DnD has hundreds of clones. But where are all the vampire/mage/werewolf clones? Is because DnD is more generic and easier to copy?

Yeah bud, you should just stop. Gming is going to be too much of a mental load for you.

Fishing? What are you talking about? I'm not on a lake with a pole trying to catch fish, are you using some kind of obscure slang?

H5 and W5 somehow manage to be worse at enforcing street level play and no fun allowed stuff, so really I suppose it's just the new writers must also hate the more gonzo side of the setting. W5 in particular makes me mald as I enjoyed Werewolf for what it was, and W5 is less Werewolf than V5 is Vampire.
>>97340688
Well because the system is actually pretty open-ended and is technically a sequel to the older editions your DM is free to pick and choose what he likes to add and use. There are also no missing clans or disciplines technically, the retards at the helm decided anything flavorful or unique should either get smushed together (Obtenebration and Necromancy into Oblivion, making every Lasombra a necromancer) or made into an amalgam ability like Vicissitude being protean + domination. As for clans, they either got renamed (Setites into Ministry) or they got merged into the Hecata for all the necromancer clans. It's incredibly retarded though and you're free to ignore it of course, but the system is worse in general. Still nothing stopping you from using your old books of course.
