I would at least layer through a presupported file and do an island check (or use a utility to do it for me). "Presupported" isn't really a guarantee that the creator(s) have actually tested to see if the file prints correctly.

Stand alone. Really useful for doing last minute checks for islands & voids (or completely changing settings in files, if you want).

The raft serves to expand the footprint that anchors the model. It helps to resist the separation forces and prevent the model from detaching from the build plate.
You want to hollow the model not only to save resin, but so that there's less surface sticking to the FEP, making it easier to separate. You'll want a hole on the near side of the build plate so the hollowed area can breath. It's to prevent the suction cup effect.

your post reads like a) you don't know what modifier are, b) you lack basic reading comprehension because your points were already addressed previously
so why don't you go ahead and scroll back to read them
>You keep making up all kinds of reasons as to why OP's guard might have let the players succeed but conveniently miss out the most obvious outcome
LMAO Do you even understand what you are arguing for?
the most obvious outcome for hitting someone in full plate is not penetrating the plate, we are still making a roll mutherfucker
that's literally what the dice are for [and so they can provide unexpected results for everyone including the GM]
I was making all these reasons as an illustration that it's not impossible, so it doesn't fall into a category of something not calling for a roll altogether, and I'm right
If it's highly unlikely you can always [heavily] penalize the roll, explain to your players what is the reason for the penalty so they can both not feel like it wasn't justified and be smarter next time
That's what a good GM does

PS
the sneak example reads like a railroading "no you actually can't do that" attempt and bad DM style as well tbch
you don't provide a lot of details but again some sort of PC competency is expected, so if you FAILED AS A DM to properly convey to your players there is not a single chance of sneaking the courtyard due to how difficult it is, you should have acknowledged that and make one final attempt out-of-roleplay
>you know, I have to warn you <CHARNAME> is pretty good at sneaking and he realizes that there isn't a chance he can realistically pull that off, are you still going to try?

>muh magic staff
not an argument
a staff is in fact a weapon and can be used to conceal an even deadlier weapon
also I don't see how you explaining how that could have happened is an argument how that is so out of the realm of reasonable to the point of not calling for a roll altogether
>Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli
I didn't gloss over them, them having complied with no resistance is irrelevant
obviously it doesn't prove you can't not comply

Why the FUCK is his power armor broken? The Badab War was 100 years ago. This dude leads a legion-sized band of space marine pirates and is one of the wealthiest and most powerful space marine lords in the setting, on par with chapter masters of the first founding chapters.

WHY THE FUCK WOULD SOMEONE NOT HAVE FIXED HIS POWER ARMOR. Does GW even know their own fucking setting anymore?

Orks are fine and have so many plastic kits. Bring back looted tanks and then even more options.
>>
>>97260466
That's what you get with DEI and commies working for GW
>>
>>97264090

Yeah, but we were talking about scale-creep. My point is that the reason Ork's don't get scale creep, even though they literally have an inbuilt lore excuse for doing so is because GW barely thinks about Orks at all. Unlike space marines that get new ranges and kits three times a year and has done since 1995.
Which was thirty years ago.
>>
>>97258391
I don't think there's very much truth to this. From GW's perspective, it's a great thing if you kitbash vehicles, because then they can sell you two kits instead of one and then even better you'll buy kits that aren't even for "your faction". People often attribute this kind of thing to malice when it's really a case of you can't please everyone.

Have not read Dark Sun(nor any settings from back in the day) how would one go about doing that.
Other than including cannibal hobbits.
>>
>>97264527
Even separate books for "Player Options" "Optional Mechanics" "Equipment lists" would be good
>>
>>97264590
Dark sun as a setting is perfect for any sort of sword & sorcery/post apocalyptic theme. The setting is littered with ancient ruins of its previous ages, and theres many different monsters & things you can find down in them
>A littany of ghosts and undead of long dead peoples, and the spirits of now extinct genocided races like trolls, goblins, orcs, kobolds & gnomes
>ancient experiments or any of athas's menagerie of wildlife
>psionic monsters aplenty, almost everything on athas is psychic
Youre spoilt for choice, but ruins are the main focus.
Actual existing Modules that you should look at are anything with a forgotten ancient ruin (The lost city, dwellers of the forbidden city) You should be going for that, a mix of tomb raiding/Red Nails Conan/Lovecrafts nameless city.

Fundamentally, that the mechanics are the 'standard fare', combat goes roll+mods vs static+mods, then roll damage (with mods), and I haven't seen anything different from the usual for out of combat stuff.
I know that I'm picky as shit about rpgs, but for my group this would raise the question of... why are we even playing this, and not just taking the setting and using a system that we all already know well?

I agree with you, but let me add one thing:
Magic is so much better, when you can never fully control it. When it’s something wild and dangerous, that you can bend to a certain degree, but only that.

Compare the John Doe magician:
>oh, we need a fire
>I cast small fireball
>oh no a wolf comes
>I cast small lighting

If you do it like this, magic becomes a tool. Basically you could totally play this with some “technical tinker guy and his weird apparatus”.

Now compare it to this:
>you are outnumbered and surrounded by ghouls

That style of magic only works if PCs aren't built around doing magic. The concept of "magic is unpredictable and can have severe or long lasting consequences" doesn't mesh with "70% of player characters are expected to use at least some magic in every fight". If magic requires a large amount of resource investment to perform then it needs a commensurate payoff to be worth bothering with, and if magic is risky then it needs to be dramatically better than safer options for the same investment to offset the risk.

When you marry the two, what you end up with is a PC that will routinely snap the game over their knees, but causes serious problems for the rest of the party in the process. This leads to a spotlight and narrative balance issue, where the magic characters are the ones resolving the narrative, and everyone else is relegated to janitorial duty when the wizard's summoned eldritch nightmare turns on the party for the 4th time this month or whatever.

This problem goes away if you remove risky consequences from magic, so magic characters can perform adequately without burdening the party with headaches or dominating the party. It also goes away if magic is made no/low investment so that anyone can have some magic in their pocket without compromising their ability to contribute without it, and then you can reduce the risk:reward ratio so that magic is legitimately a last resort with unpredictable consequences instead of a "win plot" button with downsides.
>>
>>97264651 (me)
Oh, there is one other option for balancing magic, which is that *everyone* gets magic, and non-magic characters aren't considered to be valid PC archetypes. At that point, the game can be about everyone putting out fires caused by their collective magical shenanigans, but most RPGs seem to treat "sneaky dude with knife" as an equally valid character archetype as "wielder of phenominal cosmic power", so unless you jettison that particular concept then magic users have to be kept in line with non-magical archetypes.

I'm going to have to buy a whole set of painting supplies just to get this stuff all painted up
But when it is done, it'll be quite the improvement to my terrain collection
>>
>>97264447
Do you not already have paint supplies for your models? Aegis is just two shades of grey and most of tomb world can be done with a dark green, light green and two very light browns. Dry brushing is your friend when it comes to painting terrain.
>>
>>97264497
My old big brush could really use a replacement after all the terrain I've drybrushed with it, I definitely need to fill up on primer (and might as well get one of a more specific colour), and I'll want some refills of the colours I'm going to use a lot of just to make sure I both have enough for this project and then for models afterwards without having to male a trip to the hobby store anyways.
Plus a few new tools I haven't needed before (certain colours that I can justify buying a whole pot of since I'll be using them for a larger project, a larger mid-sized ball drybrush).
So not a complete "set" if that's what my previous post indicated, but a pretty large complement by my standards.

Recently I was thinking about alternative combat systems.

I remember someone talking about instead of HP the payer has a Jenga tower and he needs to remove peaces once hit, the skill is to remove peaces without the tower collapsing

So I started thinking.
For example what if the combat somehow involves cups and balls?

Instead of a D20+modifier nonsense why not change it up? Why not give a player 10 balls or legos or whatever and to win an encounter the player needs to land 2 balls in 1 cup?

There can be variants of this like a super hard encounter demands the player lands all 10 balls or what about reducing the size of the cup with the difficulty of combat?

What if we implement a fate system from Talisman for the players? What if legendary bosses have something like that for themselves? And can negate the players victory?

What if different monsters use different "balls" like for example some bone golems will be you throwing legos into cups and zombies are aluminum balls while naga can be gummy bears? That actually makes the monster feel different and not a copy pasted set of numbers. Also the different aerodynamics of these "balls" are part of the fun.

That anon just might never build that mini, but i was just curious if it was AI.

If you really cared about the conservattion of old miniatures then you would know recasters exist.

Just because you don't have their emails doesn't mean they don't exist.

Takara Tomy massively fucked up how they handled English Wixoss so unless they've learned lessons from that I'm not sure they are automatically better than WOTC.

Different anon here:
It sounds to me like the early game might start off a little slow, or poor luck in your opening hand could cause the equivalent of being mana screwed in Magic. To combat this, you could have a generous mulligan rule, or as an option, you could let players 'go gravedigging' on their turn, sacrificing all other actions to, for example, turn the top 5 cards of their deckinto their graveyard. It kind of reminds me of the 'Exert' rule from the old Highlander TCG. Alternately, you could always just start the game with X amount of cards in your graveyard. I dunno, just a few options to consider.

I mean that's fine but I'm definitely not crediting a game with "good art" if that art is just lifted from somewhere else.

they could have done better. low budget doesn't have to mean bad.

Wixoss is just too based for western markets.
