>>97235320A story about Sartre told to me by my French philosophy professor: Sartre worked for the French army (as a meteorologist of all people) and when France was captured by the Germans was sent to a POW camp. But he had that famous eye condition you can see on the photos that made him unfit for work so they just released him after less than a year. Later he recounted all the horrors of war and imprisonment he experienced under nazis... Which included regular meals, 8-hour work days with strict adherence to Geneva conventions, and ability to publish his works and give lectures to other prisoners.

Although officially Khorne hates all magic, there are a bunch of exceptions for things like communicating with daemons, summoning daemons, creating creating daemon weapons and daemon engines, but I digress. >Unlike most Bloodletters who always advise their shamans to take the most violent possible option, I try to sometimes give somewhat more sensible advice. >So when a small tribe of Khornates got cornered by Orks in a canyon and were likely at serious risk of being wiped out by massed artillery fire, I advised them to accept the Ork offer of surrender, assuming that the Orks would use them as slave soldiers in a fairer fight elsewhere. >But instead, the Orks ordered the tribals to participate in a game called Blood Bowl. Intrigued, I urged my followers to take learning the rules and plays of the game seriously by trotting out the “honor” line that Khornates sometimes use when it suits our purposes.>Anyways, the game itself has started and so far no one has scored. The Orks are bigger than even the biggest mutants on the Khornate team and seem to be more interested in picking fights than actually playing the game.>How boring, I get to see Khornates and Orks fight each other all the time, I wanted to see an actual Blood Bowl game!
>>97235322>I activate the skull I use to communicate with the shaman (who is also the coach) and remind him to use plays that involve sneaking fast runners around the main scrum and deep behind the Ork lines. >And then a large hatch opens in the middle of the field and a platform from somewhere below rises up with a large robot on it.>Wait, is that something allowed under the rules? I grab the rulebook I brought with me and start flipping pages.

>>97232938I see the point and counter that the staggering majority of non-multiclass archetypes are neither powerful enough nor creative enough to justify the restriction, to the point I think we would be better served by the existence of a "Universal Class Feat" pool to throw them into instead

>>97231276>Ignoring games that don't have stories doesn't make it so games need stories.Oh, sorry, did you want to have a discussion on backgammon? Or did you enter what is clearly a thread about tabletop RPG settings, and then throw a bitch fit because people want to talk about setting stuff for their games? You know exactly how much of an uncreative, unimaginative loser you are, that's why you've spent months coming into the threads to cry about them, Wilbur. Get over it.
Had several campaigns in a setting loosely inspired by Tekumel.>mankind took to the stars in "seed ships">passengers are suspended in cryosleep>ship AI autonmously searches for inhabitable planets>purges natives via drones from orbit>terraforms the planet according to human needs>installs infrastructure for human utopia On the campaign world the natives offered more resistance than expected and made the ship crash while it was still in the first phase. Autonomous drones still managed to bomb them into the stone age. Majority of the human cargo was killed in the crash and with the now defunct ship was unable to rebuild a high tech society while it was still being pestered by autonmous planetary defense systems. Games were set at different periods after the arrival. Humanity, AI and Alfarri (natives; sue me) have formed and sometimes intermingled in several different cultures.
>>97219278This is like word for word 4e's Points of Light/Nentir Vale setting. Even including the zombies since the first 1-30 adventure path was about the demon prince of undeath trying to assassinate/absorb the goddess of death so he could control everything that ever dies.
>>97231611>Barker wrote a sixth novel, Serpent's Walk, under the pseudonym Randolph D. Calverhall, an allusion to one of Barker's ancestors.[24][25][26] Serpent's Walk is a science fiction story,[27] presenting an alternate history in which SS soldiers begin an underground resistance after the end of World War II. A hundred years later, their descendants take over the United States of America.[28] The book's protagonist becomes the Führer and worldwide dictator of the Fourth Reich.[25] The book espouses the belief in an international Jewish conspiracy,[27] suggests the solution to the "Jewish question" is genocide, and extensively quotes Mein Kampf.[25] The novel was published in 1991 by National Vanguard Books, the book publishing division of the neo-Nazi group the National Alliance, which published white supremacist and neo-Nazi material including The Turner Diaries.[25][27][28]
