How many actions does it takes to reload a double barrel shotgun? It says 3(i)This means (i)ndividual. So you put each shell in individually. But does it means it takes 3 actions each time? (2 with fast draw)? In my nogunz mind, reloading a shotgun is>action 1: break open shotgun, shells fall out automatically>action 2 (or no action): grab shell 1, may use fast draw>action 2/3: put shell 1 in hole>action 3/4 (or no action): grab shell 2, may use fast draw>action 3/5: put shell 2 in hole>action 4/6: close the shotgunI think you're ready to shoot at this point? Is this how it works?

>>97259259I meant examples of builds so great that the concept alone got you to care about them.
>>97259257NTA, but I think that falls under misjudging a build. I wouldn't put it so harshly, but I also had some times where I could tell a build would drag down every writefag they were in and that's exactly what happened. I won't give examples because I'm not here to make anyone feel bad. Does anyone have a more positive topic?
>>97259248Well, it’s hard to think of just one, but I’m talking about story concepts, not necessarily the choices included in the build. For example, Kenji and Kohaku are yanderes for their Idolons, which means they’re instantly at odds with the good guys in JITE. That’s cool, because they might not start out as specifically cruel people, but they are led towards evil because of these circumstances. Yeah, at the end of the day what they do in writefags is what matters most, but that kind of character already has their foot in the door for me. Same thing with Chizi and Ming, for example: they’re basically the same character concept, but reversed, and they’re at odds with each other immediately. >>97259268Oh no, that’s not what I meant at all. What I’m trying to say is, I can look at a concept and be like “oh that’s cool, can’t wait to see what happens with this guy”, but if nothing happens it’s all for naught.
>>97259307>I also had some times where I could tell a build would drag down every writefag they were in and that's exactly what happened.I never had that feeling about a build, unless it was clearly a shitpost. And I never got the feeling a writefag was worse for having a build in it. Nta.
I tend to fraud when I get the feeling no one actually likes my build. I'll be writing and I I'll suddenly realize that I don I don't think anyone actually wants to read this besides me.

>>97256237>1940's WW2 and the aftermath. The culmination of the insanity reaching boiling point in the form of another World War. From Paris to island beachs in the Pacific people must take up arms again. Britain and France need Allies to defend against the Axis, but who are the Allies and who are the Axis? America is hesitant to join the war effort, China is besieged by Japan, Russia has a treaty with German, Japan is in a uneasy partnership with Germany, and Mexico is receiving messages from Germany promising them American land if they join the Axis. Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor and Hilter Marching on the USSR makes everything clear. The teams have been determined and war is in full swing. Rationing at home for the boys abroad, Women entering the work place, and everyone making sure that everyone is doing their part, aka TURN OUT THAT LIGHT. Espionage between enemy and ally and ally and ally ramps up to discover everyone's secrets. After never-ending combat 2 bombs send a loud roar over the nation of Japan with fire and force shaking the earth and blinding the sky. They announce the end of the war and the new age of man, the Atomic Age. The point is there was so much going on in that time, for example the birth of aviation combat or sea Battles of WW1 or the formation of the studio system in Hollywood. If the only thing you know is the very end, Nazi spies for atomic secrets, you aren't properly using the setting. If you are really interested in things that have to do with Deisel Punk you need to do you research. There's a wealth of cool things waiting to be discovered by you and shown to the modern world. Trapping yourself in what has been presented to a mainstream audience since the late 80's is not going to do anything.Thank you for reading.Part 2

Welcome to the Old School Renaissance General, the thread dedicated to first-decade, Gygaxian D&D, its faithful modern clones, and content created for use with them. Later editions (2e and newer) should be discussed elsewhere.Broadly, OSR games encourage a tonal and mechanical fidelity to Dungeons & Dragons played as intended by its creators from 1974 to 1983 — less emphasis on linear adventures and overarching metaplots and a greater emphasis on player agency. If you are new to the OSR, welcome! All in all I'm cool with it, AD&D + AAC is something I've been waiting ages for.

>>97258196>>97258377I guess I get psyched about starting a warband, and then look at them and it's all stuff like "Orcs actually want to just stand back and shoot" "Your leaders shouldn't be anywhere near combat" "Just give everyone a sling/mace (depending on army" "Don't arm anyone with a shield or armour" and it's like, well, what's the fucking point of anything if the only advice given is "Everything is sub optimal except X for this warband"
>>97258986Mordheim is just a fucking dumb game that is propped up by nostalgiafags and 28 trannies. Let's hope GW remakes it as a grimdark answer to Trench Crusade but with good rules this time.
>>97259001>Let's hope GW remakes it [...] with good rules this time. When has that ever happened?
>>97258986The point of games like Mordheim or Necromunda is that they're modeling project, with an immersive ruleset to bring those models you've made into action. The rules have a lot of references for immersion, but the gameplay and tactics are fairly simple. You can choose to skip the modelling aspect when starting but you wouldn't be sticking to these game for long without delving into it.
>>97241303New Mordheimer here, gonna play cult of the possessed. So my frame of reference to other gw games doesn’t really seem to apply here so I have 2 questions to get my list started> I’ve read my main magister can be used as a melee character, so while he’s in his infancy is it more worth it to start him with light armor and a shield to bulk him up without worrying about casting or should o just give him a weapon and throw him in there>I can’t tell if ws or s is more important so would I be better off with brethren to also give them some sort of ranged option since the rest of the list has none, or is the boost to strength from the dark souls way more importantCurrently the plan is to run magister +2 vanilla possessed and use the rest of my starting funds on either brethren or ds but like I said, I have no real frame of reference here

The DM reveals that all this time, the 'Chaotic Evil invading soldiers' you've been fighting and slaughtering were actually Lawful Good innocent untrained peasants. They were tricked/convinced into believing they were fighting for survival and defense of their impoverished homeland.THE PALADIN FALLS AND LOSES ALL POWERS!!!Do you feel like a hero yet?
>>97258634if i continue to fight invading soldiers, i will very quickly realize whether or not they act like trained soldiers with some discipline, or like some random people who never held a weapon before and dont know what formation is Because if you happen to be invaded by legions of untrained farmers, chances are this wont be a long war for them
>>97258649They are free to throw down their arms and surrender. Hell, I'll even send a messenger after the first few slaughters saying as much. If they literally shoot the messenger though... yeah no quarter.
>>97259083beside the obvious opportunity to surrender (as op said, we are slaugthering them), this scenario also assumes we never took prisoners and no battle ever had any surviving foes who could be questioned. So the big, shocking reveal naturally would have happened rather early in the war anyways.
>>97252494I show the DM page 18 of the PHB and tell him that tricking a paladin to UNKNOWINGLY perform an evil or chaotic act has no effect on his status. Dark Lord dismisses himself when the adventurers fail to stop him and he eventually gets laid. Then it's all fine for a while until orcs kill his wife and it's time for revenge (and recruit adventurers to help him)
>>97258165My villain's original motivation was something like that, pure worldly greed and power and carnal desires, now it's to stave off damnation at the hands of six different petty demigods/archdevils that he thought he could get away with selling his soul to.
