>GM runs an encounter specifically designed to curbstomp the playersIs there a right and wrong way to do this or is this inherently a bad idea? I can understand having monsters outside of the PCs' weight class destroying them, but when an encounter is specifically designed to make the PCs look like a chump?
>>96906488Incorrect.
>>96906590That won't feel organic at all. The players know you only gave them an ally to kill it later, and they know you know they know. You don't really think you're the only person on Earth who reads about GM theory, surely?
>>96907236No, the players make decisions and the GM adjudicates. End of.
>>96907368But then the game sucks, and you've wasted everyone's time.
>>96903441Adventuring isn't a friendly scrimmage against your local rival sports team. It's fine as long as the GM properly telegraphs the danger and the players are the ones who ultimately decide to put themselves in danger. The panic of something you can't handle and the quick decision making to get away can be a lot of fun and make for memorable stories

>>96903313Necromutant spotted
>>96907049Not that I know of, quilted armor seems to have been completely abandoned despite being like half of the rogue trader aesthetic and none of the retro revivalists seem to care at all about bringing it back. >>96906985>>96906875>>96907049>more modernNo. It was sort of an aesthetic people used for a lot of vaguely weeby SF in the late 1980s so you occasionally see old stuff crop up. It's more of a 1950s trope.>under $10/modelWell, you've got the old Battletroops models. https://ariesgamesandminis.com/collections/online-exclusive-battletroops They're beefy 25mm, and one-piece metals, but they do exist and cost around $5-10 a pop. IIRC there's some other applicable models in the 25mm Stargrunt range as well. Ground Zero doesn't believe in putting actual images on their website for everything, however, and their sculpts are very hit-or-miss in addition to being closer to 1/72 than 25mm.https://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/25mm-stargrunt/japanese-corporate-merceneries.html>Modern, padded armor, no helmetsCheck the Colony 87 range from Crooked Dice. There are only a few models kicking around in there but it's the most functional 28mm source I know outside of rooting around in 3DP hell.

>radiant typhoon became an engine abused by other decksI expect points increase in December
>>96907277>generaider nekrozHow does it work? Only by relying on Code Igniter?
>>96907504My assumption is that rather than summoning their Ritual Monsters, it's being used as a R4NK engine in case you either can't go into your Generaider engine or if you happen to draw into a copy of Emilia and Brionac. Avance is a 1-card Stealth Kragen and Catastor can be used to put them back on the field. Two assumptions that I can make here, >The Code Igniter line is being used for Cyberse Sage into Chorozo, where Chorozo can either be used defensively or to get over huge monsters (it can negate one of your own monsters' attack for a Banding effect)>Utopic Zexal Future is in the deck for their 2nd or 3rd turn, since unless they draw a god hand they won't have the gas for it in one turn
>>96907504My guess is has something to do with:>2 Nekroz main deck bodies make Code Ignister>Search Sage>Detach Emilia to ritual Sage>Sage fusion summon effect, using in GY Emilia and field Code Ignister to make Chozoro>Chozoro + Sage = IbFrom what I understand, the deck is designed around 2x Enterblathnir to handrip for two, and then turn those into F0 for interaction.

>>96907299He's wrong - you can get foil proxies easily that pass, I've been doing it for Lorcana for about six sets now. But you're going to have to wait for the printers to get them, and first set is often lower quality than later sets' proxies.Regardless, keep an eye on Aliexpress, with the price of some if these cards I'd expect them to be available before Christmas.

>>96907188If the game has regular ass plain cards with no special kind of foils on them, then the chinks on aliexpress make great cards. If they don't sell Riftbound yet, write to them and ask them to get into it. One guy literally advertises that he'll make hardcore porn custom cards for you too, if you want that. They don't give a fuck. They might even print and ship CP too and not get into trouble for it over there on their side. They could snitch on those buyers in the west for fun though, so I'd advise against that. They're not trustworthy at all, they're still criminals.Although I'm kind of curious if those guys would have a problem with counterfeiting a chinese game. They could face legal consequences for stealing from one of their own for a change.>>96907222>>96907458Yeah, FaB cold foil proxies are great too. Double sleeve them and nobody can tell the difference, they're that well passing.I'm planning to grab some high end Magic proxies next just to see the limits of their foil printing tech.

We keep seeing dwarf and elf threads but where are the comfy halfling threads?
>>96879630That's the fun part; our DM was secretly training us to be able to play older editions with this campaign. GP was XP because it was outright stated that a party of three of us weren't going to be able to kill a pack of wolves or take on a single ogre for a minute. We weren't clearing out dungeons for fame and glory. We were creeping around human outposts for good quality weapons to defend out little villages and remapping trade routes to keep other short-folk alive. If we had anything resembling a tank, it was our halfling and goblin fighter team who had enough fitted armor to take hits to draw attention away from the group when something found us. We did end up building a carroballista to fend off big monsters during escapes. That's the closest we had to a "DPR main".
>>96884500>>96884574This reminds me of a comic where it explains that halfings believe that you should always give good news with bad news, but its a human fighter lamenting some horrible news from back home and the halfling saying something along the lines of "Well, my aunt's crop came in just fine this month."
