Discuss recipes, share pictures, etc. What's your favorite flavor? Do you prefer sorbet, ice cream, no churn? with eggs?

I plan to try the Macadamia nut brittle. I just happen to randomly taste the Häagen-Dazs and fell in love with it. So now I want to try mine. I often do this, taste some industrial/junk food and then make it better (and cheaper) at home. It's the second one I tried, the first one was a banana and was a total fiasco.

What fast food place has the best fried fish? Im in the mood for it but im not sure if ive ever gotten fried fish from a fast food place besides long John silvers years ago. But theyr nearly all closed.

I've heard that J.J. Fish can be pretty decent, but I've never been. They're all over the place, though. We don't have many options for fried fish, outside of certain bars. There's some place Brown Bag something or other, but they're cashless, so I never go.
Are you looking for any particular kind of fish? Fast food and barbecue places in black neighborhoods tend to have fried catfish.

I've got a bunch of leftover cooked chicken breast (skinless). i want to expand my chicken salad horizons. i've got a pretty good recipe i use, but i want your guys' opinion

Just found the secret to cooking pork chops /ck/. Look at that consistent maillard reaction. It seared and browned very quickly with zero liquid seeping out of the meat and on to the pan as it cooked. Because it cooked so quickly, it was very tender.

I find a gentle tap with a tenderizing mallet and a dredge in flour both improve them significantly. The mallet helps to keep them lying limp on the pan, so they lay in place with some dead weight and don't curl or contract in the heat. A few hours brining helps too

Yep, that's what I've done. I also cut a notch into the chop that ends at the center of the piece. I've noticed previously that moisture and steam would build up in the middle of a large slab of meat forming a bubble cavity that prevented the center of the cut from touching the pan which results in a brown crust on the rim of the meat, but no browning on the center of the cut.

At McDonald's, you can order a McDouble and a McChicken and put the McChicken between the patties of the McDouble. This is referred to as a mcgangbang.

Pic related is a variation I ordered on my lunch break today, I simply removed the patties from the McChicken to reduce the total carbs.

I usually don't eat fast food, but if you're in a rush the mcgangbang gives you a quick and filling meal for only a few dollars.
