Ford said it expects to take a $19.5 billion hit over the next two years as it pivots away from electric vehicles due to reduced demand and reduced profitability of the models.

The company, which has lost more than $13 billion on its E.V. business since 2023, said the majority of the charges will happen in the fourth quarter of 2025 and 2026, with $5.5 billion carrying over to 2027.

The automaker will also stop making the electric model of its F-150 trucks, and instead focus on extended range hybrid models and other gasoline-powered products.

The announcement comes as an EV sales slump is causing other big-name car-makers to re-evaluating their product strategy and lineups, including the likes of Tesla and General Motors.

This would work in the following circumstances.

A Constitutional Amendment that explicitly recognizes and restores a citizens right to discriminate how they see fit in the conduct of the personal, private or business affairs. And that municipalities may pass and enforce laws based upon such with a 70% or greater popular vote.

And all votes are to be counted by hand. And voters must present proof of identification and citizenship in order to vote.

TLDR; Bring back open segregation laws. And either get rid of the punishment laws on the South or inflict them on everyone, everywhere.

Currently I drive a Mercedes SLK230 Kompressor but my real dream car is a Corvette C5. I could hypothetically be able to get one soon, but what I'm worried about is how do these things actually handle? Obviously I would assume the Z06 would handle pretty well but let's assume the absolute most base version of the C5, these things are pretty uncommon and expensive where I live so I might not be able to get "the good version". The suspension and stuff is actually surprisingly advanced on the SLK so I don't wanna end up spending a whole bunch of money on a car that will end up being a downgrade in all but power, cause if that's the case then I'll just get the SLK 32 AMG instead.

The 1st gen SLK has multilink in the back and double wishbone in the front, no mcpherson column in any of the versions, not even the cheapest ones. Maybe you got it confused with the later ones, I don't know what those have but I can imagine they could have mcpherson struts

Driving like a grandma is bad for your engine too. You just need to have a good balance. Baby it when it's cold and hasn't fully warmed to operating temperature, minimize short trips, and then you can send it up a hill. Your car will thank you.

True, there’s more room in those two trucks than there is in my Kenworth, but I’m just too comfortable with my current truck to want to be in anything else. I’m not even thrilled about the idea of ever driving a Peterbilt because the hand valves in the 579 aren’t in a convenient spot compared to the T680 imo.
>>
current pete i'm in pisses me off constantly. the cruise control does not behave correctly at all and when I complain about it, garage and manager both say "oh it's supposed to do that, for fuel economy"

this shit will just randomly show an infinity symbol and begin hard accelerating to 68 (governed speed) when I'm trying to cruise control at a lower speed limit, like 60. when I roll down a gentle hill instead of coasting it drops two gears and full jakes. sometimes it shows a "-2" and refuses to accelerate. it will coast down to 30mph if I let it, which I did one night on an empty highway just to see before I got annoyed and put the foot feed down to take control back. shit heap is absolutely retarded. They ask me why my CC driving time is so low and I list out all my complaints and they assume I'm just retarded and don't understand "adaptive cruise control"
>>
>>28780669
I’m dealing with similar issues with my KW and just assume it’s the adaptive cruise control. I fucking hate it – you’re not supposed to coast in neutral, but the transmission will automatically do it anyway! It doesn’t always stick to the selected coast speed, unless I switch to Manual Mode.
While this isn’t a cruise control issue, the transmission will remain in a gear if you manually downshift a gear too far and it will not shift to a higher gear unless the engine speed drops below 1500 RPM. I don’t understand how this is safe because it means I will need to drop to a much lower speed before I can accelerate, again, and that’s not exactly a good thing when you’re in traffic.
>>
>>28780684
yeah that's another pet peeve, trying to manually drop a gear right at the same time it drops one automatically and now I'm nearly redlined and it just refuses to go back up a gear

You should definitely head to the Morgan factory. Fascinating place, where the cars are truly hand built. Also they will customise a car however you want (beyond their default configurator) as long as you are willing to pay. If you want to turn a tree from your garden into trim or something else in your car they will do it. Apparently a man when having his 3 wheeler made had replica browning machine guns put into the nose and gave it a full battle of britain paint scheme with roundels to make it look like a Spitfire/Hurricane.

Le mans classic
Imagine going there and seeing just a sea of grey scale. How disappointing, but that's 911 owners for you. I think we might be going the Le Mans classic in 2027 with the club. I've never been to Le Mans, my dad still speaks of such fondness of going multiple times in the 60's and 70's, so i'm looking forward to going.

To be fair, I had seen 2 Cygents in the wild but had never seen Rapide in person until I went to buy this one. Despite that there's only about 150 Cygnets in the UK. Though I have seen the one with a V8 in person.

Oh, it's absolutely worth it. We've been the last couple times, and it's just a fantastic experience. Seeing how some of those lads boot those Bentley Blowers around the track is so entertaining, and the GT40's are always trying their very hardest to win, and Christ, ~the sounds of those engines~ genuinely breathtaking. Someone also binned a 250 GT into a wall, pic rel, which must've cost a pretty penny to repair. It was back racing this year, looking all shiny and new.

Mayng fuck shipping body parts...

NOBODY is careful enough to pack them properly and avoid damage. I bought 2 pristine same-color brand new take-off fenders and both sellers damaged them in shipping by not packing properly. No matter how much I begged them to pack it properly.

They would have been a perfect OEM color match and everything, but no, the sellers were too lazy or wanted to avoid $5 in packing materials so got an eBay dispute instead because they arrived damaged.

So I had to buy some pre-painted bullshit that doesn't quite color match.
