>>96460847We know very little about the box overall. If you're just starting out, the Combat Patrol and/or the KT teams are a good starting point. As a new player, you don't really want or need the terrain as most places you will be playing at will already have terrain and the DW team is not a necron team. It will take a bit for the new stuff to get ported to the codex if you are interested in more than just Kill Team.

It could have been a bitter old rival, a straggler who never fully cemented their influence (and thus was easiest to take over), or a familiar ally who the Onguuchi's frequently had ties with. Could even turn out that the two have some minor blood relation if the last one's the case- like maybe one of his grandparents on his mother's side was an Onguuchi... Either way, the other old money families not being fond of his mother does seem reasonable, so whatever the fine details the relationship is likely strained.Lots of ideas to play with, really... So I'm making my setting for my Beyond the Wall game, and I'm just curious what do you guys use for inspiration. Myself, lots of Conan, Tolkien (not dunedain, rohirim, the orcs) Dominion 6 (my principal inspiration at the moment), lots of real world folklore, tales and stuff (like the Narts, Spanish folklore, Tibetan bon) and this or that stuff of different books (I love tribal stuff and making tribes inspired in different stuff, like I have a tribe of skinners than wear the pels of the Tribe of the wolf,wich are locked in cosntant war in the not-siberia). Just got the Children of the Five Winds. Pretty okay, better than the shit in Writ of the Wilds.Super Natural Encounters are pretty good addition, and does represent the inhuman aspect of these beings when you fuck up etiquette on them. Meishido is also pretty good.Kinda sucks that they're still focusing on Non-Rokugani schools, and they're still kinda unimaginative. I can't really see their uniqueness or flavour unlike the earlier schools in Path of Waves.Plus side I really like the elemental gimmick for Kitsune Naturalist. It kinda sucks for a master ability, but I do like how you have to rotate your stances to represent seasons changing. One more book left and hopefully we have enough fa/tg/uys working on it to reverse engineer the system.

I’m thinking about MtG more because of the new Duskmourn jump. And I feel like it’s a trap because the more I think about MtG, the more stupid everyone and everything in it is. Like look at Thunder Junction. It is apparently a trade hub with no resources or geographical advantage, and yet despite being some shitty desert it’s a vital junction to a bunch of places just because. Why isn’t that Ravnica, the new centre of the multiverse? Just because Omenpaths lead there more often? Why? Is it literally just Niv-Mizzet propaganda? And speaking of Omenpaths, as a replacement to the Planeswalker spark they are really, really shit. Supposedly they just open and close at random (unless you’re a bullshit mage who can see the order inherent in chaos) except when they don’t, and for NO REASON they presumably all have little stopovers at Thunder Junction instead of leading directly to another plane? Also why the FUCK is the Aetherspark considered a vanity prize instead of a goddamn superweapon par excellence? Has everyone just forgotten the raw power of a Planeswalker even once diminished to NuWalker levels, and how they were all used as fuel for the Elderspell? Do people just not address the risk of Omenpaths closing and thus stranded in some horrible interdimensional space? The entire setting has been hit by multiple apocalyptic events recently and this random group is just waving around the basic means to reignite one like a fucking Cartier diamond.
