The most common criticism of this show in Japan isn't the comedy. It's the further focus on Newtype shit.
>>23472019I sort of took it that way himself, but two things can be true at the same time. Gyunei is a kissless virgin that doesn't understand Quess (thinking an age gap is an issue after her attempts to latch onto both Amuro and Char) and the age gap is a bit weird.
It's a split second scene where Amuro abandons his stuff at hand, causing Gyunei to mistake it for Nu while Amuro strikes from the side. It's sort of referenced in Hathaway's Flash when Lane is defeated at the end of first film.
>>23482545webm related
>>23452658They were fine, it made Gundam quite unique. Still does on some level.
>>23482588Such a good scene. Gyunei was expecting amuro to pull the string on the bazooka to shoot him, but was taken aback that the gun didn't fire & looked.
Continuation from >>23407269Are you watching gundam for the first time? The original series, a spin off? Post your thoughts, theories, or opinions with other people who are watching for the first time.I just started war in the pocket, the opening and ending is really nice. It's almost soothing or melancholy. The main characters are children but they aren't like the boisterous children from 0079 or zeta. They're more grounded and serious but the lighthearted humor still exists. It's just not over the top. I'm really liking the different vibe. Another thing I miss from more recent series is just how different the characters look. they have different face shapes, noses, ages. Sometimes you forget how much characters in recent series look similar or have no discerning features other than hair.
Finished War in the Pocket the other night, it was just as incredible as everyone says. Gonna put off F91 and watch Stardust Memory now, going in with lower expectations but its charming so far. Mora might be in the running for best gundam waifu.
I downloaded MS, x, WFM, and turn A and starting on MS first. hopefully I like them. MS started out quite interesting. I hope it keeps the interest for me even though it's on the shorter side.>>23486306if you end up not liking it then go for the movie version (afterglow of zeon) i didn't like the series but liked the movie.
Major props to the guy on nyaa who has those huge packs of all the gundamn anime in release order. Theyre great quality, dual audio, and them being so well organized has motivated me to watch everything
>>23488931Gundam nyaa guys are great. I keep referencing this chart I screen capped from a torrent as well

I love Gunbuster so much it's unreal. The ending always bring me to tears. Truly the peak of /m/
Imagine being so pathetic you’d rather cry about a show you hate in a thread you don’t care about instead of making a thread to talk about your show that is supposedly so much better.
Gunbuster so perfectly hits all of my specific buttons its insane. I truly feel like Anno and I are the same person when I watch it.
>>23476911Chargeman Ken went from release to out of print within the span of 4 months. Licenses are highly varied, unfortunately.
>>23486175you can shit on diebuster in a gunbuster thread, infact you're obligated to do so
>>23486165i love you too anon
What was the first mecha you watched that wasn't dubbed in English/Spanish/Italian/French etc? And what year? For me, Godannar in 2006, the Shizuru butt gif where she called Shiba a liar got my 13 year old self wild. If only the show were good lol. I liked Mira the most though.

>>23482937Considering how willing Toei is to make V cinema slops nowadays, i do hope a Changerion anniversary movie will happen. The story deserves a closure.
>>23483098Taiwan had a ban on all Japanese products, from toasters to music. So to have a mostly Japanese film was a big no-no. Seems like the MENA region was a beautiful dumping ground for East Asian media. Most of the Taiwan-Toku they've uploaded are sourced from Lebanese VHS tapes.I got a chance to chat with the uploader, and I have brought up that JP film another anon commented about. But I really need the SEAbros to start doing their own recovery hunts. Apparently a Filipino-English dub of Toei's Watari film was released on Betamax in the Philippines? I'll try to find the archive link I was sent and post later. But yes Singapore, The Philippines, and Indonesia was similar to Lebanon, huge dumping ground for all manners of stuff. The English dub of that weird Space Streaker movie was from an Indonesian tape.

Rainbowman 25 in the bag!https://archive.org/details/rainbowmansubbedAs much as I love Rainbowman, at the end of the day I work primarily with manga, & being away from it for like 3 months has given me some serious withdrawal, so I am VERY ready to finish Rainbowman's front half & finally get on Gosaku Ota's Great Mazinger!
>>23485854I don't think there's that much obscure Showa Toku stuffs to be discovered around here, since I only remembered some betamax copies of Sentai and their accompanying, locally made, audio dramas. did dagon/leviathan/behemoth have pilots or were they fully autonomous? Ibwas always curious to learn if the bigs were created to fight these three and others like them in a skynet-like rogue warbot scenario, or if they were just a different type of megadeus present during whatever war destroyed most lf human civilization.

So if the New United Nations from Macross were an independent thing from Earth's Federation then why were they still feuding with Zeon and the colonies?
So it seems like all you have to do to recruit Guelbob is win all the duels and make sure that when Suletta and Chuchu 2v2 that you beat the girl first.
>>23488987It doesn't dwell on it a lot but there's a scene in the show where the rabbits are just hanging out and they talk about having dreams of being part of a family, that someone they can't remember taking care of them when they were little. They don't really mope, angst or cry about it but there is the sense that they're all more than just a little bit lonely. They all are really all they have.
>>23488997Yeah.My chuchu was lv11 with 0 upgrades that I just gave up the final step.
What's the Burn Bunnings secret in SRW Y?Is he recruitable?
Majestic Prince is the most generic show I've ever seen, but in a weirdly good wayIt's derivative and generic, but it's polished aside from HiraifaceIt's bland, but a top tier bland
>>23484028If the movie existed just to give the other rabbits their upgraded forms then it was well worth it. Sometimes it's enough to just see the characters you like one more time.
>>23481905It's much easier to portray acrobatic shenanigans without being vomit inducing or an unreadable mess when there's a clear point of reference. Many space anime forget this fact.
>>23486553Yeah, even though the animation is great, the space fights in MP also got very unreadable at points. It helps that all the ground combat had great choreography and teamwork to help sell the Rabbits as a team as well.
>>23408412Despite how "generic" the show is. I think the show's best traits is the characters. They don't have those "started disliking one another until bond are formed in the end" kind of chemistry. But they felt kinda natural. Like when your teachers grouped you and a bunch of unrelated randos together and you all just figuring out how to make this work. Sometimes it's comforting to see a team that just, normal. They bounce each other normally like actual friends.
>>23486725It was just nice. I don't like the term generic but while the show isn't trying to do anything especially shocking it is focused on doing things right. None of the drama comes from people behaving like retards. Characters actually take time to communicate. It feels genuine because it is genuine. Even the most mysterious cloak and dagger characters realize that the secrets can get in the way sometimes. It's nice. If this was what counted as generic then whole genre would be a lot better.
