I wish mats weren't so expensive. I just got a resin printer and started pumping out hextech terrain only to realize that the blank hex mat I have only uses 1" hexes where battletech uses 1.25 or 1.3 so they aren't compatible. I also really want to get my hands on scouring sands asap but I've blown my hobby budget majorly for the time being. Guess I'll stick with alpha strike movenent for now and give the papercraft buildings some purpose.

So what's genetic engineering like in the Inner Sphere? I can find some references to 'minor' stuff (some aquatic people, apparently some people get pointed ears like elves etc) but do they push it any further like the clans do?I've been toying with making a merc band one step removed from pirates that are all a bunch of experiments that have managed to escape from their collective bs. Kinda like supermutants from fallout (maybe not as huge elemental scale at maximum, that can pilot mechs which gives me the chance to ork-up the mechs in a bunch of conversions mad max style. The guys I play with will think its a laugh and be okay with it, but I wanted to know how far i'm pushing canon stuff with this. Its mostly just an excuse to do some conversions and do a 'bad guy/evil' force.
>>97345034The star league did it to adapt colonists to certain specific worlds and had some extreme experiments hidden way out in the periphery, but the only faction that might play with it is Canopus, and it's only minor mentions of it for essentially cosmetic reasons to make exotic showgirls/whores for the state sponsored tourism industry. They use cybernetics much more frequently, and that's what would be available anywhere else. Genetic manipulation is not something that will ever be commercially available.
>>97345072>Genetic manipulation is not something that will ever be commercially available.Implying I can't use mountains of cash or violence to get what I want.
Is there any way I can incorporate my fetish in my fantasy world without it becoming a magical realm?
>>97341563Anon the first famous mentor-mentee relationships in recorded history (Grecian tutoring) famously involved a fuck ton of diddling.>>97341228As they're meant to be. This was about the deliberate use of fetishes in ttrpg's.40k has ttrpg's and a setting that is suited to taking inspiration from fetishes. Also this is hardly a highbrow thread anyhow.
>>97344493My point stands. Fags fucked up the concept back then (as many a contemporary source will also say), and they've been fucking it up ever since. You still have to be a faggot to look at a male teacher and a male student and choose to conjure mental images of homosex rather than generational skill transfer. You see a horse and think of bestiality.I see a horse and think of cavalry charges and war chariots. We are not the same.

>>97344648No, your point doesn't stand, as it's not historically supported. This isn't you being un-faggy. This is you being revisionist in accordance with your personal beliefs. Which is a higher form of faggotry all of itself.

I've spent the last year, studying, and designing a custom Arthurian set, originally intended to be based on Le Morte d'Arthur (like how P3k was based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms). However, as I continued to study, and look into different (and some obscure sources) this turned into a much more wider net. This set, which is no where near finished includes>Welsh Triads and The Magnibong>Pre-Vulgate Arthur traditions>Vulgate/Post Vulgate/Lancelot cycles>some English/Welsh fairy tales>and even a bit of the Victorian Arthurian revival (especially for art). I avoided the Italian and German romances entirely, and tried not to include weird outliners except when needed. Outside of art, nothing is sourced from the 20th century or onward. Also all art is public domain. I'm mainly posting here for feedback. Some will be art recommendations, flavor text (especially sourced) will be always welcomed.Comment too long. We're going to have to come up with a phrase for the new era of Warhammer 40,000 ushered in by the Amazon TV show, DoW 4 and Total War 40k, and increased market value of Games Workshop.nu40k isn't going to cover it. nu40k is already bad enough for many of us from headier days like 1st through 4th edition. You are going to see horrific debasements to the thing you know and love that you will still see with your eyes closed. Every 80 IQ person with internet access will have an opinion on Warhammer without knowing what a Tau Remora Drone is.
At absolute most, they'll be the flavour-of-the-month for a brief spell, then they'll be forgotten in under a year and people will move on to something else. Nothing has staying power now, everything is ephemeral. Monoculture is dead and people rarely venture outside of their own carefully curated walled gardens for very long.

>>97343299I had an idea for a werewolves for a personal setting, and one of the things I decided is werewolves aren't actually wolves. Werebeasts are amalgams of various mammalian predators. Most look sorta wolf-like because when you throw wolves, bears, and hyenas in the mix, they tend to come out somewhat wolf-like. Werelions and such are a result of some people just taking more after lions. They can also kill and steal the form of what they hunt, so there's that too.>>97344237Because Sin-Eaters aren't ghosts. • What makes it "conceptually boring"? No, "I think it's boring" or other answers revolving around preference aren't valid.• Why should it "be looked at"? Cite examples pointing to an inherent correctness, duty, or obligation to "look at" it. Once again, responses addressing preference aren't valid.• What do you mean by "looked at"?Be detailed and specific.

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games. Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work).
