I need clear instructions how to find right people for a specific RPG concept, played online. As of now I can think of two requirements:>must be into the setting or have experience with RPGs>must be in similar timezonePlease write down algorithm for it, including choosing a system.
>>96442596>make friends with people you like>ask them if they want to learn how to play RPGs>have fun with your friends.
>>96456443>make friends with people I like>tell them to get into Blue Archive and hope they want to actually get into it>tell them what an RPG is and hope that they want to play and have time to do so>get stuck on choosing a system
>>96442596ez>Hey guys I'm looking for experienced players, who'd like to play and know setting X, specifically people from timezone Y.
>>96442596Step 1: Go to a place or places where people like Blue Archive. The more people you can reach, the betterStep 2: Ask if any of them are interested in roleplaying together, using "X" RPG systemStep 3: Determine the time zones and availability of those who responded positively in Step 2Step 4: Use WhenIsGood.net or some other method to see when schedules line upStep 5: Prioritize players who seem most experienced, eager, or willing to be team players. De-prioritize players that seem flaky or disruptiveAlso, I don't know anything about Blue Archive besides the "UOHhh!" memes. I expect that may have some effects on your game.
>>96459599Blue Archive is about based anime girls with guns. PCs are intended to be said girls. Age: high school, height: varies from loli to 180cm (tallest canon character).

A lot of stupid fucking faggots have been posting some bullshit about how AI art is "good" and "fine for the hobby". I am here to tell you, no, you are a FAGGOT who will not pour BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS into his game. You know what AI slop is? You coveting the ability of others and compensating by using tools. You are a fool with an automatic drill acting greater than a true carpenter. Continue down your path. One day you will awaken and see yourself in a pit of disingenuous tar. An inescapable muck that you have built into your home, a fitting place for a wretch unwilling to unabashedly display their love for their fellow players in any form. Anyway, post art from your campaigns. I need to update this, but its mostly my current party. Goblin and the orc died during the end of the last dungeon.
I, as a DM make extensive use of AI to generate: NPC, monsters, mooks, generals and bosses. My players love it.
>>96459616>Asked to do what they hatedthis is like a shit artist take.like if you're looking for work, you shouldn't turn down something so broad.>>96455318This is also not really an argument but moralizing.what's the functional cost between me using an image from my character art folder (something we have right now) and using AI?that a human hand made it?no money is passing hands between me and the artist.AI Is a tool, like automation, it raises the skill floor we expect from artists as a result the lower skilled artists get crushed and these tend to be the people who rage most vehemently against it.I would still prefer imagines made with intention, and the foibles of man but that doesn't mean turning into DR Ted because some faggot used AI Elf titties in his DND game.
>>96461106TL;DR We get it, you enjoy ai slop, but trying to frame this as a "muh progress" narrative doesn't make it any less slop
Not since the NPC meme has there been a more telling litmus test. Many, many people on this earth have no soul.

>>96461241Most Abbadomon decks I've seen run like 12-14 Scatter Modes, the full playsets of SoundBirdmon and Eyesmon, and some Trainings/Memory Boosts. Is there any mechanical difference between Edge of the Empire and Age of Rebellion?
>>96461774not particularly. there's the Duty/Obligation mechanic, and some equipment has slightly different rarities and costs depending on if you're running strictly only material from one set to the other, but races, classes, and talents are all cross compatible
>>96461774Edge of the Empire rewards you for becoming either obligated to a criminal boss or being legit (you can be dirty or clean with each side having some advantages). Age of Rebellion rewards you mostly by your loyalty to the rebel alliance.Force and Destiny is your Jedi being bipolar on a personality trait.
>>96452406How was Acolyte revisionist? It didn't make the Jedi bad guys. As others have argued it's critique of the Jedi could be considered toothless. What they did was a massive fuck-up, a sort of Waco Texas. While certainly they should be penalized for incompetency, this is in line with them holding several staff-meetings with a Sith Lord as their boss and not realizing it until the last second. The most morally shady thing they do is cover up said fuck-up, but that was a decision made on the ground and not by the Council or anyone. And even then, it wasn't so much an active cover-up so much as those involved being very choosy in how to detail their report (an Obi-Wan Kenobi level of 'true from a certain point of view). >>96453323A New Jedi Order could have been done (and likely still will be for necessity sake) I think the issue was more setting Rey up to have WAY less resources than Luke, but nobody thought about how logistics is meant to work in Star Wars. Which is why my theory is Ahsoka will do it- since it make more narrative sense for her to do it than Rey. >>96454081Yeah that's in line for what I expect from Star Wars retcons, and about what my imagining was. I guess I'm one of those people who would argue that consists of two different republics even if there is a line of continuity there. Heck- France is on their Fifth Republic right now, and some even think they might be on their way to their sixth. Personally- I actually find it fun to reconcile two competing lore ideas, like to me I think it can be both true the Sith Empire imploded itself, while also the Jedi were the ones to defeat them. Typically extremists and autocrats are their own worst enemies. Arguably the Nazis defeated themselves by running their country into the ground and declaring war on every single major power, to the point where they were looking into researching magic as a way to defeat the Allies.
>>96461999Personally I just find it odd that there hasn't been any major adaptions of the Sith Empire, outside of TOR and some visions shorts to my knowledge (by which I mean- stuff that's not comics or books that only the super-dedicated fans would be aware of).
People bitching about -4 STR should realize it's actually pretty forgiving. Things could get so much worse.

>>96455291>because of your faith>only for the pure heartedthat's protestant shit (vanity), though it's better than jewish shit where you just have to be born into it. You're putting too much focus on the person being special, whereas with catholicism the point is nobody is special - everyone's shit and a sinner. In reaching for the cross in their time of need that is a tacit submission to God and a plea to his mercy, regardless of whoever that person was before. Even the person returning to sin after the fact isn't a barrier to that (frankly it's expected). >>96455515Where I see shintoism sorta overlap with vampires (aside from touhou of course, but let's ignore that) is the general central tenent of the separation of the divine or pure, mundane, and profane into their own specific spaces. And that lines up with a lot of the traditional "anti-vampire tech" out there, if not all of them. Stuff like being unable to cross running water, having to be invited into homes, even garlic as a ward - it's very easy to find parallels with that and Shinto traditions such as Shimenawa or Ofuda (or even like setsuban if you want to stretch it). So in that hypothetical, I think that if you are running with the premise that shintoism affects vampires at all, warding and sealing are definitely within their wheelhouse. Killing Vampires however? Less so. That's more within the realm of what gods would potentially do themselves than anything a priest or priestess would be doing.

The monarch could no longer rely on his vassals to provide him with large armies, so he had to rely on mercenary bands, which cost money, which required proto-capitalism. Mercantilism was a way to survive the decline, not really a cause.

Every time I search for a cool "barbarian" in some RPG, no matter if it's dark fantasy or not, it's always the half-naked dude or chick that looks like he / she has just wake up after an university party. It gives the same vibes that you get from watching an historical film and for some reason, the filmmakers hate natural colors and must put a filter that ruins your immersion. Is it there a good RPG with proper "barbarians"?
>>96461415>It's like some non-japanese going around saying "I'm a gaijin>He's not taking it back
>>96457768The "problem" you've found here is that Barbarian is much, much wider archetype than it appears at first glace. The progenitor is Conan and if you read the classic stories the only things barbaric about him are his origins. Otherwise Conan is a remarkably well-spoken, fair-minded and even-handed man who looks down on "overly civilized" folks because to him they appear helpless, weak and cruel. Conan doesn't have a berserker rage like we think of it today, he has a survival instinct and no special powers. So when he encounters a giant spider or a gorilla-mummy-demon, he panicks and he goes all out. It's got elements of horror to it. And when he fights against men his superior body isn't what sets him apart (it helps a lot against nameless soldiers but he fights other individually powerful fighting men as well) it's often his martial skill, which is mental. He's also an accomplished burglar as well as statesman, famously taking the corrupt aristrocracy to task for extorting the smallfolk with huge taxes. Barbarian barely touches base with it's roots anymore. It's evolved as a category to include berserkers as well as mystical nature powers. Barbarians now are essentially classified as nature fighters in the same vein of paladins being holy fighters. Which is fine, but something is definitely lost in translation here. Conan is a scrappy warrior unburdened by civilization's specialization. The Fighter compared to his brand of Barbarian is essentially a soldier, someone who can *only* really fight because that's their job. Conan doesn't have a job, he has many survival skills that give him freedom. The best fix I see imho is to rebrand Ranger as Barbarian, and give the current Barbarian bag of tricks to Druids. These are cultural discursive categories though so it's not actionable. If you want a "lore accurate" Barbarian however he needs to be a jack of all trades (explicitly besides magic) and yet forced to do odd jobs due to being an unspecialized yokel.
>>96461497It always makes me smile to look back and remember the first Conan story ever has him already king and he's drawing maps.
>>96461876Yes! Exactly! He's a competent monarch because monarchs are de facto outside of society by being above it. Conan has a deep bag of tricks born out of his rugged outdoorsmanship and many travels. He will never make a good farmer and he doesn't have what it takes to be a brewer or miller. A Barbarian doesn't have those ties to civility like a Fighter might. But you need someone as a sellsword, sea reaver, burglar, bodyguard, assassin, monarch, hunter, horseman or dungeoneer then you would be wise to call on Conan in every case. That's the Barbarian bag and origin. All the magic powers, totemic spirits & berserker rage stuff is best left to Druids. High level Barbarians should be frightening because they could spring almost anything on you and they're accustomed to fighting with fear, rage & hunger in their hearts all at once. The Barbarian is cool under pressure and comfortable being threatened by primal sources, he does not command nature, he is a survivor that is part of it. When you feel the fear you start sweating, when the Barbarian feels the fear he starts thinking.
>>96457768Its like this because early D&D players wanted play a Conan type figure and Gygax when codifying classes saw the range of Conan as described accurately by >>96461497 and thought it was to overpowered conceptually. So he made the concept into a dumbass as a "balancing" call. And because D&D is D&D, it went from there.
