Eh, it makes enough sense since outside of Mateform all singers are basically asexual and gender dimorphism is not a thing for them. It really is a pure "lock or key" distinction.
>>
>>96476775
I think as well, the cosmere stuff is... it's really just light reading, despite the absurd length of all of it. I like it and I want to give the system a try, but I'm not absurdly committed to the setting to the point that it's one of my passions or whatever, and that's basically been the case for every person I've spoken to about it that wasn't a teenager. So the tone of the thread entirely checks out to me as a bunch of people who look at it and go "Oh, cool."

wow, what ttrpg are we talking about?
Hentai? the random porn fic you're currently busy writing? that doesn't sound like any game I know
maybe you should read an actual book before you post here
if you'd truly love dark elves why haven't you read: Path of the Dark Eldar/Malus Dark-blade series/Legend of Drizzt/War of the Spider Queen
Vault of the Drow is one google search away
you guys don't want to actually discuss elves, you just want to goon and for some reason /e/ and /h/ banned you I assume, and /co/ has mods which leaves /tg/ to suffer your sorry existence

Yeah, the usual answer is just muh settan, which is a codeword for "random shitpost I came up on the spot".
Elf threads are, unfortunately, just a den for pornaddicts to congregate and reach a critical mass to make them unusable.

5 leagues from the borderlands.
Dark court elves prefer to live in their own settlements they forbid humans to live inside of, unless it's spouses, while light court elves prefer to fully subjugate their human population by absorbing them into their settlements and eroding their culture.

Yeah, it's inconsistant.
>>
>>96469069
>Then how do homing spells work exactly
It struck you but didn't actually bring significant harm to your body. Maybe it just struck your armor hard enough to rattle you, maybe it just bruised or singed the skin, maybe it caused you to exert yourself to roll with the strike in such a way that left you more tuckered out than you were before the blow. HP is, per the rules, an abstraction that covers all of these things to facilitate the game going forward. If you want to get into the minutia, then D&D is not the game for it. There are literally dozens of games that get more granular about injuries, stamina, luck, and so on. D&D, and by extension many games with similar HP systems, is just trying to cover the mechanical base of "attack could not be avoided, but didn't necessarily cause you harm enough to hinder you" that is a necessity for more heroic fantasy games.
>the only damage a character AKSHUALLY receives is when they reach zero
The game doesn't even say this. Many games that use this system, and even D&D in some niche mechanical cases, treat half HP as being injured in some way. Injured/bloodied status is a common enough mechanic that if you've played or even just read any more than a couple of games you'd have come across it. "Meat points" are not a thing in the vast majority of games and D&D itself explicitly says they are not meat points. Regardless of your tantrum, HP simply is representative of multiple factors for the sake of simplicity. It's more elegant for the desired mechanical complexity to not have to track stamina and injuries separately.
>>
>>96469248
The vast majority of people playing D&D do not give a fuck and thus it's not worth the effort to change.

Has anyone actually watched the Blacktalon show? I'm not paying for it (paying for Warhammer+ lmao) but I am curious about the quality or lack-thereof since Blacktalon stories are either fairly good or utterly shit.
>>
>>96477985
The stories are paper thin, the soundtrack is unmemorable and the animation looks like it was produced on a budget of shoestrings and saltine crackers. Some of the backgrounds are nice, and the voice acting ranges from decent to quite good. Although sometimes the audio mix will be a bit uneven. It's not a bad way to spend ~20 minutes if you're watching it for free and want to consume something AoS, either just to pass the time or to have something to post about ITT.

Special shoutout to Andrew Spooner who voices Hendrick in the show. He's great.

>>
>>96477639
Pin it - drill a hole unde the hind hoof, insert a bent length of paperclip, bent it to form a right angle - one length will sit under the base. Use superglue and then some greenstuff or another putty to secure the length under the base.

Use super glue to secure the other side of the pin into the hoof - you can add a tiny ball of putty to the end of this length as well for added durability

Current meta is absolutely atrocious. Cathay is retard tier. Nuln outrider spam and dwarf expeditionary gyro spam belong in 40K and.both flavors of undead are busted. High elves, Bret and chaos can keep up but it’s a bad time for people who still believe this is a rank and flank game and not who can run and gun with a big flying melee threats. I want to play state troops and not feel like a retard for having more than 1 token block

The game is better under 1.5 but either ranged stuff is overall undercosted or many of the melee infantry stuff is over costed. It’s pretty shocking the only points changes they did were for a ring and Pegasus after over a year of this game

i can't say exactly but i know an lgs that will sell me beta booster boxes for 130ish which is well below the going rate on tcgplayer. Idk if a store is going to be doing that on release day but it's worth a try to find one and negotiate the best price. Gothic will be printed more than beta but less than arthurian legends likely. I don't see pre orders being necessary but then again they try to use the pre order numbers to print to the expected demand

Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that dialogue is what keeps the thread alive, so don't be afraid of giving someone feedback or post whatever relevant input you might have!

>What this thread is for:
/tg/ gets shit done again and is creating a “Battle Bible” (Ala 2nd edition) for 4th edition Warhammer 40k.
>What this thread isn’t for:
Alternative ideas for what 4th edition could include, such as alternating activations, new unit ports, etc. This is a Stage 4 process and so there's plenty of time for that later on.
Don't engage edition warriors, trolls and rule revisionists. We're trying to keep it tight; mannered and objective focused.

BATTLE PLAN:
Stage 1:Finish revising and formatting the SRD.
Stage 2:Compile all GW official erratas into the SRD.
Stage 3: Condense all the codices into up to date SRD. - pending
Stage 4: Make a Hobby Enthusiast supplement for the SRD.
Stage 4: Make an Optional Rules supplement for the SRD.

>>
>>96477882
>places to get cheap models?
Like in bulk or genuinely cheap?
If you want some not!40k models that MIGHT be fitting then try the Death Fields stuff from Wargames Atlantic.
They are basically historical era minis with a sci-fi flavouring.

I wish I knew of more places.
>>
>>96477882
Try getting miniatures second-hand or from third party producers. Some examples are:
-Wargames Atlantic for Imperial Guard
-Mantic Games for Orks, Squats, Demons and maybe something else
-Scibor Miniatures for Space Marines

Then there's the option of print-on demand services: you basically tell them what and how to 3d-print, provide the files and they do It. It's a bit expensive, but less than GW stuff.
Also, never buy stuff directly from GW, as some 3rd party retailers offer a decent to good discount.
