well he's the focus of those films so obviously yes dick head

His scenes with Gandalf were the only parts of The Rings of Power that I truly enjoyed. The guy playing him did the singing/rhyming sort of under the breath, and it gave the character just the right touch of mystery and fae strangeness.

dat fucking elbow. I always knew limb expression through opposable thumbs was critical as a built-in part of the human body which allowed us to get where we are today. Same with binocular vision, vocal communication, brain and memory and overall central nervous system, life cycle.

Never thought of the importance of the elbow joint. Those beasts would be mighty scary to see
>>
>>220337751
That did seem a bit unnecessary, but it makes sense why the script went for that sudden cheap twist when you consider the writer was known for working on The Twilight Zone and Star Trek.

It's discussed frequently because of failed potential, and because it was babby's first alien movie given that it came out 10+ years after Alien Resurrection

>Its kinda crazy to think maybe there were giant squids attacking human boats just to fuck them up or possibly eat the people and the only mainstream academic view that they didnt do that is that they currently dont do that.

How is that crazy? Ancient people had their own rumors and "urban legends" that were based on half truths. Example iron maidens were torture devices that were a hoax pushed by 19th century freakshow museums. They were the ones who cast the first proper iron maidens and then claimed this is what was was used to torture people. Back in WW2 when rumors about nazi gas chambers spread, eventually the gossip twisted fake gas showers into acid swimming pools where jews and commies would get thrown into and dissolve, leaving only teeth.

So when you have sightings of either living or dead giant squids and you combine the very real accidental or not-so-accidental whale attacks on ships, you get a perfect mix for a sea legend. In reality despite the name the giant squids are ironically too small to attack proper ships, they're lucky to capsize a boat. Meanwhile a blue whale is double the size of the largest portugueze ship from 1500s.

just be aware that there are a bunch of pop culture references from both kano and cage.
the fight scenes here will age well. this movie will be talked about decades from now, as this sets the standard for a fighting game adaptation. the fight scenes are much improved compared to the previous film.
some of the dialogue, however, will age like milk.

>>
>>220336938
The fuck. If johnny is boring then what are the rest?
>>
>>220337743
Is he or has the game had so many versions and told so many stories of the popular characters, that it conditioned paypigs like yourself to lie to justify your continued interests in the series
>>220337815
milked to death to justify a new version every couple years

Why do you want this movie to appeal to critics anyways, it's goal should be to become a cult classic like urban's dredd, the fight scenes look like it has a chance to pull that off
Is this reaction some kind of culture war beef because of how straight white males have been sidelined or erased from mainstream media over the last decade and you're somehow projecting the modern culture on a character from the 90s

I dont mind when movie adaptations dont closely adapt the original source. I dont want to see the same story twice.

If you do care, you should just go play the game/watch the cartoon/read the book that got adapted and stick with that.

It's even better than before, you know, 'cause now it has a very large indoor swimming pool. >>
>>220337656
nta, but people have been souring on the Nolan films for years now. Tastes change. The tone of the Burtman film was exactly what was needed in 1989. The post 9/11 tone of the Nolan trilogy is dating itself.
>>
>>220336582
WB used to be insanely competent

Also they'd been trying for years and years to get a Batman movie together and they knew they had to get it right

Prince songs aside (and I like Prince) the movie is near unformly compoesd ot great creative/production decision-making

does it hold up, anyone under 40 has watched this and enjoyed it? saw it in one session without looking at his phone?

I think the problem is that movies and television have also changed away from the 00s content that worked so well for imageboards. For example, Kickass was a bad movie but it matches with the format of the old internet whereas the content these days is designed for instant social media and video reacts.

Imageboards in general are dying too of course. The way people interact with computers and the internet is so different now that it almost seems like hell.

>>220337505
True. The peak of capeshit 10 years ago would outright break the board with every movie release.
>>
>>220338483
I tihnk be biggest change to the internet is that it went from a "community-model" to an "audience-model"
>>
