Anybody ever have a meniscectomy? I had 70% of my medial meniscus removed. Am I fucked?
>>76944962This right here is why I can’t stand most orthopedists and PTs. They’re so ready to write off as “non-athletic” anyone who isn’t playing pro/collegiate sports and just hobble you for life because they don’t think it matters. I had a labral tear and had to go through two orthos before I found a practice that actually wanted to get me back to lifting. The rest were fine with crippling my arm so I couldn’t bench anymore.
>>76944810What are symptoms of needing this proceed, just occasional sorness after overuse?
>>76944990I've always gotten inner knee pain. Like on and off for years. But it wasn't until I woke up one day after playing tennis and it was super stuff and swollen that I knew something was really wrong.
>>76944810Knees over toes guy. Same, had like 70% of something of it removed. It was horribly torn for a year and I kept training on it (was new everyone told me the pain was normal, it’s not). They had to resurface the bones. Have a bone on bone knee. Tore other knee got surgery immediately. First knee tore again, didn’t get the surgery.>fell out of liftingGot depressed>babied knee for years>tried to get into walking and running would hurt so gave that up to got out of shape and fat let diet go to shit>another few years later went to the mountains did some hiking>started sprinting down the mountain, jumping from stone to stone (really fucking fun)>slipped twisted ankle>got home with swollen ankle>realized knees don’t hurt just ankle>tried to back into exercising but knee began hurting again>started looking into it>found knees over toes guy>started applying his stuffComment too long. >>76945242I can run walk long distances jump fences handle falls of 6 feet again, crouch kneel for long periods climb stairs again no problem do squats again.OP you’re not fucked it’s just a pain in the ass. Look into knees over toes guy his stuff is legit. You’ll be good.
Should men focus on building large glutes or is it a mainly feminine muscle group?I feel like it's a major source of physical strength but also looks zesty when well developed on a man
>>76944133why, does his nose not work?
>>76941507Girls playing sports creates glutes for them. But if they didnt then they have gym nax

>buy persimmons last week on a whim >eat a couple with some cheese and crackers >oh shit, persimmons are going bad>can’t let them go to waste!$100 later, here we are. Ensuring the persimmons will not go to waste. This playful little dish is a take on the bodybuilder staples of “chicken and rice”. It will be “duck and risotto”, so still basically chicken and rice.Is duck safe to eat? Will it impact my gains? I have eaten only chicken and rice for the last year, and I’m worried that if I deviate then all my hard work will go down the drain.
>>76945133I stand corrected. Carry on, old chap.
>>76945155Spending all that money on that fruit is stupid tho. Carrots are way more nutritional. But anyway just boil them and eat them idk
>>76945162Are you illiterate? I bought a whole duck and a bunch of other shit; the joke here is that by trying to off-set the loss of the persimmons I spent over ten times the money I spent on the fruit to make something with the fruit.
>>76945208Yeah im esl i didnt get that. Btw you are probably overpaying all these products. Just curious, how much did you pay for that balsamic vinegar? I live in Italy and can assure you modena balsamic vinegar is most times a scam. If it doesn't have the stamp in pic rel it's not real modena balsamic
>>76945227$7 American. The quality doesn’t really matter as I’m reducing it anyway>reduce cheap wine to au sec>cup of balsamic, half cup of sugar>reduce by half

>>76943450I don't think he's washed up but he certainly has lost his momentum. He's not an idiot who parties too much (if at all) and he's obviously still in great shape, bt at 36 time is running out and you can count with the fingers on one hand how many good fights he has left.He failed to consolidate his position by dodging Wilder when they both were at the top of the food chain. Honestly I think Joshua would have beaten Wilder. But they both were comfortable sitting on their respective thrones. Then Fury came back and you know the rest.He was too protective of his career and it didn't work out as well as he thought. He has to take a riskier approach if he wants to regain some relevance in wht's left of his career, but I doubt it. My prediction is a couple of big payday fights with no relevance to ranking nor a shot at the title and then retire.
>>76943453The average person is still better off learning boxing than faggy grappling MMA. You won't get good at MMA if you spend your time mixing up everything, but if you only train your hands, your hands will become faster and you'll have power to rock most people with no experience. And good luck grappling on concrete or kicking in jeans.>>76943720>He failed to consolidate his position by dodging WilderIt was Wilder who turned down the AJ fight. DAZN offered Wilder 100 million for 3 fights; one against Dominic Breazeale, then 2 fights with Joshua. https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/26300183/wilder-camp-rejects-9-figure-dazn-offerWilder also ducked Klitschko.https://www.boxingscene.com/articles/wilder-not-rushed-klitschko-says-finkelEven Tyson Fury was a cherrypick gone wrong. They thought Fury was finished after the layoff. Wilder was always protected because USA had nobody coming up after him.

I hate this retard.> do this goofy shit I do if you wanna get jacked and athleticno just do normal lifts and run or cycle or something> but I'm 5'2 listen to meeeeee
What, jumping? Jumping does in fact work. Plyometrics are highly effective at increasing athletic performance. It takes a lot of force to hurtle 100-200lbs upwards into the air. You can make gains with less risks.
>>76943704go to bed Mike

I usually do high rep bw pull ups but I'm thinking ditching them for 10kg ones. I'm able to do like 12 in a row with 10kg.
>>76944840Yes. Overloading = muscles must get stronger to keep pulling. Always doing high rep bw pull ups is equivalent to the guy who always benches 1pl8 at the gym and looks the same year in, year out.>I'm able to do like 12 in a row with 10kg.You're ready to spam weighed pull ups, cheers

Went to the gym with my 55 year old dad while I'm hope for Christmas break and he outlifted me significantly.
>>76941759I'm 29 and still don't outlift my 58 yr old dad. He also has 17 inch arms while mine are 15.5, and I'm ~20% bf.It's nice to know I might have that genetic potential and it will depress me when I do surpass him because it means he's declining. Be grateful.
>>76941936>it will depress me when I do surpass him because it means he's declining. It will mean that the torch has been passed, as it should be. He'll be so very proud.
Ask him to train you
I am a 55 year old dad. Way stronger than my sons. This is normal. They have my geentics (meh) and I have a 35 year old head start on them. The good news is that if they do what I tell them, they will absolutely surpass me very soon. My one son is only about 18olbs and squatting 315 to depth for 2-3 reps. Bench is coming along slowly, but its coming along. Consitency and time.If your father is still stronger than you, listen to him. He knows. And he probably wont tell you to use kettlebells.
>>76941759>tfw dad is a dyel who could barely bench 30kg
How much stronger/resilient in a fight does lifting make you? Let's say I'm 160lbs and bench 2pl8, can I take down a 200lbs untrained man?
>>76944813Depends on the type of lift and the type of fight. Head on shoving like a rugby scrum or football scrimmage seems to benefit from horizontal pushing like prowlers, bench and power clean (for hip power), hence the latter two being part of the NFL combine. Grapplers benefit from rotational movements hence things like Bulgarian bags or mace/club/whatever that Japanese staff is called work for eastern wrestlers.MMA fights and boxers use ballistic movements like kettlebells for metcon and work capacity. So what kind of fight are you thinking about? Tailor the resistance training to the style.
>>76944841Let's say it's a random street brawl. Kicks, punches, shoving, even giving subconscious cues that make it seem not a good idea to fuck with.
>>76945053Ballistics, power movements and rotational sandbag/mace or club work. Think kettlebell, club, dumbbells and barbell power cleans, loaded carries, sled pushes, hill sprints. Speed wins fights. The ability to flip someone or grapple is rotational. Shoves are full body movements like a sled push more than a bench press. Kicks and punches are rotational and start from the hips with arms as follow through for punches.

It's the holidays, and I'm eating like 1300 calories over my maintanence in christmas cookies and similar slop every day. and I plan to do so until atleast the 26th. Atleast I'm bulking and still working out... right haha?
>>76944991what is your height, weight, and liftsyou're probably horribly deficient in all three
>>76944991There is not one single worse thing I could ever imagine to put on muscle than splurging on calories. I just ran a half marathon son, about to do another.
>>76945056What the shit is this even saying. Splurging on calories is good for gaining muscle.
Can anyone explain this proud to be natty shit? It's fucking retarded. I can see why you'd want to avoid gear for health reasons or just not wanting to deal with the fuss. But we literally have recreated 1:1 testosterone that you can just inject at any time for minimal cost. It would be like not using protein supplements because they're "not natural". Like who cares if it's natural?? I'm lifting to get big not to be one with nature.
>>76943457>what are you even saying?? gear just makes you build muscle faster. it's not some cursed object. literal pajeet thoughtYou have that thing where test has made you super confident about the first thing you think of every minute, so shut up dumbass.I don't need gear to look good and be in the 99th percentile of lifting. If I did take it I could have detached a tendon and I'd definitely be worried about my heart and testicles.
>>76943418Natural is one less chore and factor to worry about all the time. It's not actually difficult to get impressively big, it's difficult to stumble on effective techniques, diet, programming, rehab, equipment, etc. The difference between effective and mediocre is night and day, and there's kind of a compounding effect.
>>76943418The proud to be natty shit is corny. If you're natty be natty and don't walk around with this massive chip on your shoulder expecting validation for not being on roids. But that also goes the other way if you're gonna pin just pin and be done with it don't expect people to validate what you're doing. You're injecting exogenous testosterone which will inhibit your body's natural testosterone production and will have effects on your body.> Inb4 you can take other substances to counteract those side effects.More money and even more drugs that have their own side effects just to be big. I hope you're making enough money to sustain that lifestyle otherwise > pic related
I lift because I like lifting, getting big is just a nice cherry on top. roidfags only care about getting big which is some sort of mental illness I reckon, no different than being a tranny
>>76943418>explainReal bodybuilding is about looking good, being healthy, and enhancing your fulfillment in life. Steroids eventually negate all three of those things. On a more practical level, today’s drugs are not the pure pharmaceuticals that Arnold was taking in the 70s. Pretty much everything out there is black market lab and you never know what you’re really getting. The stories of guys developing horrible abscesses and infections from injecting contaminated stuff are way too common. If you think you need to take drugs to be happy, you need to reexamine your life. Caveat: I get it if you’re competing in nod/ifbb, steroids are a requirement for that.
What bf% is this? How do you achieve this mode?
>>76944473this but unironically

Takes a lot longer than people here will lead you to believe. Surprisingly high muscle mass at such low body fat. I’d say 1 year of lean bulking and then 3 months cut
