it is from my experience, though ive seen other anons reflect on this. the higher you go the more steps you want. of course theres other factors like sampler etc but this seems a pretty clear correlation
some anons here talking about 150 steps unironically, but ive had gens at 4MP with anima that actually benefitted from shit in that range, though obviously not with res samplers
honestly tdrussell should add this to the readme on the HF too

>Legendary technologist Larry Ellison has outlined a vision for an increasingly aggressive surveillance state in the 21st century

>Co-founder of Oracle, Larry Ellison, who serves as the cloud giant's CTO, has been part of the tech industry's furniture for decades now. Looking ahead, he projects the rise of technologies such as AI, drones, and additional monitoring systems.

>Ellison's warning came during an hour-long Q&A at an Oracle financial analyst meeting in September 2024: “Citizens will be on their best behavior, because we’re constantly recording and reporting everything that is going on."

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jim-cramer-oracle-king-data-104233367.html

>Jim Cramer calls Oracle the fastest growing data center player as the company builds 72 multicloud datacenters embedded within Amazon, Google, and Microsoft clouds.

>Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) has quietly transformed from a legacy database company into one of the most aggressive cloud infrastructure builders on the planet. The proof is in the pipeline: Remaining Performance Obligations surged 438% year-over-year to $523 billion in Q2 FY2026. That's not a growth rate. That's a statement of intent.

I don't have the resources to run any of those locally, but your best best will likely to be just pick one, give it a chance, switch to the next one when you get angry at it, then once you've gone through them all, go back to the one that you liked best. I'd start with Deepseek, but I haven't tried Minimax, StepFun or MiMo.
>>
>>109000619
Remember though, generally it's easier to get $20 out of one person than $5 out of 4. There's a reason why no one prices anything for $0.10, because a low price doesn't increase the number of sales by that much.
>>
>>109000669
Strangely enough, there are not any ready to use recipes to run GLM 4.7 on my setup. Some vllm change broke something. And for GLM 5.1, the max I can sustain is IQ2_XXS... probably not worth the download.

>>109000682
>>109000709
Deepseek it is as a start then, thanks.

Most likely black market smuggling of cpus and gpus since America banned a good 1/3rd of the world from having them because they were being naughty. There's a whole industry in smuggling them now since AI became a thing the military became interested in.

VRAM frequency downclock to 60% is excessive, it will probably save the card than 5W of total power draw going from 90 or 80%.
The bigger thermal and power efficiency gains will come from undervolting + OCing the GPU, like setting the GPU to run at 2800MHz @ 900mV if that's stable.

12 GB 5060 Super and 18 GB 5070 Super would be pretty sweet. Both cards could be amazing value if they come out near the non-Super MSRPs, considering MFG and new DLSS versions. The 5060 Super will be basically a 720p upscaling card and the 5070 Super will be basically a 1080p upscaling card for raster and light RT. None of the RTX 50 series cards are really future proof if you want cutting edge tech like neural rendering. It'll be interesting to see how much more expensive DLSS RR 4.5 is. Might make 4K DLSS Ultra Performance PT viable on a 5070 Ti

Never.
80's and even 90's tech had soul. Every product looked and worked meaningfully different from other products. By 2010's the market was standardized meaning everything is the same and nothing is interesting. The same will happen to human species unless stopped.

Is AI really comparable to something like going from cars to horses or writing to the printing press? I ask this because while I don’t think AI is leaving anytime soon, it seems like a ton of companies are being forced to rethink how much they use ai right now, did this also happen with stuff like cars and the printing press?

Going from humans riding horses to humans driving cars and from humans writing to humans printing is not even close to replacing humans themselves forever

Why? Do you want it to be yet another virtual OS on top of your real OS? MPV is a media player, you give it the media and it plays it, it shouldn't have a full gui. If you want something else you can use any other program then give mpv what to play. ASS is enough.

Pretty sure there are mpv plugins that give it guis or guis that use mpv, it isn't a hard thing to make.
