which sucks, because hive you want to play with zero or three expansions, otherwise the first player has a sizeable advantage

>because hive you want to play with zero or three expansions,
I've pretty much only played with all 3. What's wrong with using the ladybug and mosquito without the pillbug?
>>
>>97337598
It's too attacker oriented, so the first player has a significant advantage. With two extras but no pillbug (the only defensive piece) white can just brute force a win, which isn't really possible with the limited amount of pieces in base game. I can't find the post now but the hive autists collected and presented a lot of data from some webplay site and the closest to 50/50 balance was no expansions or all expansions, and actually only ladybug and mosquito was one of the worst

How would you rate the 3 games? I guess a 10 hour game inherently makes for better stories than a 3-4 hr game.

I would argue, there is nothing un-elfen about both these aspects.
Despite accusations of being wimpy hippie faggots, elves in many settings are presented as competent warriors, and they have fought massive fucking wars in them.
And they aren't atheists, nor without spirituality either.
I guess what makes Elezen more unique is the focus on these aspects and less specialization in magic and the arcane.

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.
The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,
Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics...
...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.

I individually base all my minis even though I'd prefer to multi-base them. It doesn't limit what I can use them in then. I can always make movement trays or multi-base them later by gluing based figure to card then filling in the gaps with sand and touching up. Whereas single basing multi-based units would be a pain in the ass.

>Those are the only movie I know, btw
Thanks for sharing, anon-kun
Wick movies, all four of them, shaped how all the action flicks are made for the past decade.
The Hateful 8 is a movie that perfectly showcases you can have a session with nothing happening and yet everyone is going to have a great time anyway; it's also a decent movie on its own despit dragging
And stay contrarian about Dune, especially sicne you didn't watch the 80s version nor read the book anyway.
It's almost as if the quality of those movies had nothing to do with why they are on the list or something

Also:
Anon listed an entire string of movies from the past 20 years, and you are still crying while claiming utter nonsense. Have you considered not making being a whinny bitch your core personality trait?
From the top of my head, movies that are already on the 1d4 list, but aren't dated:
For 2022: Marlowe, Polite Society, Prey

My brother visited a high-caste indian college classmate's family home one summer and was pretty shocked at how casually they just kinda owned people over there. They TECHNICALLY weren't slaves, but they may as well have been.

>stealing someone away from their families and turning them into property at the threat of violence is morally acceptable.
So how do you feel about imprisonment for crimes committed? Because that is quite literally stealing someone away from their families and turning them into property at the threat of violence.
>>
>>97337117
Morality is a consequence of logic and empathy. Implying morality is suddenly massively different in a different world relies on either the fundamental nature of people changing, or the laws of logic. One is essentially incomprehensible, the other merely extremely difficult to parse. Since a tabletop setting has to be somewhat comprehensible for players to act as characters, or for readers/watchers to understand the motivations of the cast, there aren't many reasons to have an entirely skewed frame of morality. Unknowable ethics, however can be (poorly) used to excuse shit writing, post-facto declaring one side to be the righteous party despite mounds of evidence to the contrary, or similarly declaring another side to be the villain despite evidence to their righteousness/innocence.

Similarly, laws are (sometimes) used to try to prevent unethical outcomes, while creating the least number of unethical outcomes themselves. Bad laws can exist, but past a certain point bad laws begin to implode as the people underneath them have enough.
>>
>>97337536
Your explanation for different cultures IRL having different morality? Is it the "logic" or "empathy" component that varies?

Understands what the players want out of the campaign and helps facilitate that
Comes up with scenarios that are interesting both lore-wise and mechanically
Gives exhaustive descriptions so the players have something to work with

Even a pure OTK build would be just control. Yeah, sometimes you pull it off on turn 2, but your actual gameplan is to spend time searching for your pieces. That's combo control. Yugioh is aggro-centric.

Interesting they'd create a Mind Link tamer that actually wants to risk staying in the Digimon as a primary focus.
Usually the Seekers stuff just wants you to Alliance or Jamming the opponent before resetting yourself.
Unchained really is unchained with how he approaches gameplay between using DNA, Mind Linking and normal Link.
Hell, one might get the thought that he wants to combine things together if one didn't have the context to his actions from the novels/manga

i would say a blame like mega city would fit well to a roman cifi setting.
Maybe i only say this becouse i work on my own world/system build in roman asteatic.
Its aims to have a roman social and cultural aspects dialed to 11.
Single centurion ordering armees of robots, wealthy patricia sheltered in marble bunker.
Hordes of indebted slaves and genetically optimized beast servants.
criminal organizations with a mythical and underworld template.
all neatly packed (or so i hope) put into roman halls of decay.

hopes this help you. Overall X in space is one of the easyer things but keeping it on point can go hard.

honorable mention to homeworld and the Taii dan. They could fit what you seeking even better.

Not nearly as many as people think.
Going by the stats provided by Horus himself.
>Only 1% of encounters with humans ever involved firing a shot at all.
>Of those 1%, it was just as likely to be a firefight at a warehouse, than a full blown war.
>Astartes were a comparatively minor group of the Great Crusade. They were the poster boys for Imperial might, and they did highly important work. But most of their work was going to pre-scouted systems with known threats that couldn't be bargained with.
>Official enclaves and diplomatic wings were set up in the case of amicable xenos. Unfortunately, most amicable xenos were killed off by dark eldar, orks, or things that HAD to go.

The Imperium in m41 is the way it is BECAUSE of systemic generations of people assuming the Imperium is too big to fail, and basically not bothering to actually try hard to maintain it.
As such, it exhibited a slow, but accelerating degeneration (most notably in the "Waning" period) from something pretty amicable, to a universe where reading and wheels are literally illegal/sins that will get you drawn and quartered on some planets, the state religion is a legal requirement, aliens and weird looking people are to be killed on sight, and not knowing shit is seen as a high virtue because you're either working 20+ hours a day, or being sent to fight Orks with a flashlight in human waves because strategically the Imperium can only barely afford even that expense to make your lasgun.
Oh yeah, and; wanting anything better, or having the knowledge to make anything better, are enough for some puritans to kill you for chaos corruption.

Seriously. People forget the "Kill the Alien, Slay the Heretic, Purge the Unclean" xenophobia wasn't the Emperor, but a result of those 10 millennia of flanderization of his actual stance, into a feature of their religion.

Big E was worried about one thing and one thing only, and that was the oncoming human psychic awakening. If the Eldar were able to turn a whole sector of the galaxy into a giant butthole into the warp and shit out a whole new chaos god, what would man accomplish having already seeded his way across all the stars. Human dignity was secondary to making sure that he could save his own ass from being the plaything of dark gods for eternity.
>>

Relies on a community that also wants it.
Its chievabke for yo and your mates, but its much harder togt a foothold with others and encourage games with new people. All store events are going to be current edition, most pick up games will reflect this.

Not to say it can't happen, Australia has an annual 2nd Ed event in qld that is very well attended. I understand a huge 3rd Ed appended in NSW last year too. Both events have spawned and interconnected communities across the country.

>Why do you picture an orc when they are self evidently going to have an elephants head that looks nothing like an orc? Seriously, take a look at a loxodon or loxo from D&D, they are absolutely not a fucking orc despite topping out at 8ft tall.
Jeez, man, I dunno, maybe because the post I replied to said 'well, DnD's elephant people are eight feet tall!' and making a fucking elephant person be eight feet tall feels like you're taking an orc, painting him gray, and sticking a trunk and ears on him as to make him look like an elephant. Lackluster. Might as well reduce all your elves to being just humans with slightly sharp ears.
Loxo also on average are like seven-ish feet tall. Which means that if you spray-paint an orc gray, and stick an elephant fursuit head on him, you'd get a close Loxo approximation. That's incredible, it's certainly the variance I want to see. To achieve an approximation of a goblin, I will find a 4'10 woman and dunk her into a bath full of rubbing alcohol and green sharpies.
>Oh no! Three whole feet taller than D&Ds version, which bumps them to large size and changes little else.
>DnD rules
Real patricians convert WoD, and didn't you just complain that it's silly to make elephants bigger? Pick a lane.
Also, it's the height of actual elephants. They'd be less heavy due to being bipedal, but that's still a huge bitch, way bigger than eight feet tall. A natural walking tank if it shows up in parts of the world where the average height is six feet; and that's perfectly fine, but the point is finding the fine line separating 'natural walking tanks exist in-setting' and 'every well-off army is made up of giant troops of some sort'.
>Are you being retarded and thinking that a species must be both physically and mechanically unique to have a place in a setting?
You seem to presume and read really heavily into things to get upset at them for making statements or claims that aren't actually there.
>>
I think furfags can make nice lizard/cat/rat faces but when it comes to canines they always make them look cartoonish.
