I got my hands on an old chimera recently, so I decided to use one of the two chaos renegade models I found still in a blister pack last year to make a funky looking mounted chaos lord. He's not perfect, I missed a couple mould lines and had to scrape & repair them late in the process and I could probably have painted him better, but I think the end result is pretty cool. I wish I could have given him a chaos backpac too, but seeing as he's going to be used for Fantasy it's probably fine.
>>97339270Nice mini. I wish I had the ram head. I've got lion, snake and boar.
Got a game on Tuesday for some 2e40k action, 1500 points and I'm trialing one of the Dark Eldar 2e fandex lists I've found, this first one is built off and adapts 5e army list, the other two are built off adapting the 3e army list. We'll see how things go with these test games. I'm going to need to come up with 2 scratch built raiders and a ravager in time for it, though, I've got an idea on how to accomplish that, too. So fingers crossed I can get that done! Otherwise I'll just rewrite the test list to something else. Here's a shot of my Kabal so far, finished the assembly this afternoon, 55 dark eldar warriors, 2 Archons/Dracons, a raider and a kitbashed Talos I built during the 5e codex release and range refresh, the pain engines weren't coming till 2nd release wave so I needed to come up with a solution for the lack of one until then. Tomorrow arvo I'll base and prime them all, except the Talos, he'll just get some painting done on him... 17 years after I built him.
>>97341788Post up the army list itself? I'm curious to see what it's like with stats and such, and what you're taking.Any idea what you're facing?

>>97345412I'm pretty sure that hypothesis was washed long ago, and the one currently in vogue is that the genetic combo that produces homosexuality in men increases fertility in women.
>>97345766Haven't heard that one. Maybe you're right. I guess the bigger point is that the "gays are unnatural!" retards don't seem to understand that evolution kept it around in human beings, so as natural as opposable thumbs. And that human society and biology is incredibly more complex than anything that can be reduced to a bumper sticker and that our specializations and differences? Helpful.
>>97345816Sure, but it's worth noting in the same context that men instinctively react to seeing two men kissing with the same revulsive affect that they react to seeing maggots crawling in meat, and that most human civilizations habitually beat male homosexuals to death when caught. So it's entirely possible that what makes the fertility adaptation valuable is that the accidental defective men it produces are simply disposed of by the rest of the population and pose no practical issue.I'm not saying this is definitively the case, mind you. Just that it's very easy to tell yourself stories about the ancestral environment that are in line with what you already liked, and you too should be very careful about that incredible complexity.
>>97334560>Go out of your way to write an entire book to remind people that in your made up imagination game, there can be gay peopleI mean I know op posted this to be a baiting fag but come on
>>97345881>it's worth noting in the same context thatSure. You're right that "natural" doesn't equal good. But "it's unnatural" is a claim that straight people use to target gays. Not a justification gays use to target straights. It's the "god hates gays" people who are claiming "natural must be right!" Lots of "natural" instincts aren't.>that most human civilizations habitually beat male homosexuals to death when caught. That's... not historical.

>>97338861>I think it would be cool to have an option for people that don't want to trawl through message boards for builds or have exhaustive knowledge of 20 different books to not feel like a gimp next to those people that do that stuff. If the problem is char-op, then either prebuilt characters with their whole 1 to 20 choices pre-made, or even better in my opinion a simple very limited pool of curated options so that the person can make some choices. You could even group it by themes or roles or whatever.
>>97338861I really don't understand this mindset. There are pregen characters all over the source material.Just pick a high level NPC and there is your decent build if you don't want to do it yourself.why restrict the entire group and game instead. These games are meant to last years. An intimidated newbie today, in 3 years of playing might want to start branching out.
>>97341172Oh shit, you're right. No idea how I have played this game for years upon years and that never registered with me. Thanks anon

>>97344590Might be thinking of the other cyborg dragon faction. Adverts do list the Cryx as joining forces with the Orgoth to fuck over the mainland.

>>97344563I'm pretty sure Corvus Belli is still mostly metals no?
>>97345312They were one of the last holdouts, but have been switching to resin and plastic with mixed results for the past few years.
>>97344652Might be. I think it's mainly from how the website selling Cryx forces describes their situation as>"Stirred to rise from its deathly slumber through insidious bargains wrought by the Orgoth, a terrible new power stirs on the edge of the Iron Kingdoms."Which could either mean they dug up more Orgoth tech, or like how other people are interpreting it to men they made a bargain with the Orgoth Sea Raiders to conquer the mainland together.

>four "chaos" gods>only one actually embodies the concept of chaoswhat did they mean by this?
>>97345793>only one actually embodies the concept of chaos>still just embodies it in the most stale, predictable fashion imaginableseems pretty much not chaotic if you ask me
>>97345793Religiously, in traditional cultures/religion, "chaos" meant "the forces outside civilization." City = order. Wilderness = chaos. So anything animalistic like rage, rampant sex, gluttony--all traditionally "chaos" in things like Greek and Mesopotamian and Laventine religion (also the ocean is chaos for some reason). Just look at Gilgamesh or the Bible for stories where the good gods slay the chaos gods: yaweh versus leviathan, gilgamesh versus hambaba. Civilization good. Destablizing civilization? Chaos. Hence Enkidu (who gets away from chaos by drinking beer, eating bread and sleeping with a prostitute). Really, tzeentch embodies chaos least of all, out of them.
Of course the real answer is just Moorcock and Anderson. That's where Warhammer and D&D both get their law/chaos dichotomy from.

>>97335340So TW(TM) stuff is lumpy, ornate, & has a bunch if gemstones glued to it so it looks like a weird maguffin weapon for a cheap scifi/fantasy movie made in the 80'sMilitary TW stuff looks functional & has some gold trim, tasteful gemstones in places youd expect like chest & helm, that give it a nice look, or else they're all attached on the inside where you cant see. There's a subset of "steam/diesel/oldschoolpunk" TWs who make restorations with alm the gemstones & stuff hidden behind panels like the military TW stuff. Then theres all the specialty case TW stuff that is either alien or whatever

I was always fascinated by how this game seems to not just be unbalanced, but to actively reject the idea of balance between character options.>Alright guys, let's start the campaign. Let me see those characters.>I'm a basic bitch grunt with a rifle, a body armor and some military-related skills. I also took the Communications Technician package that trades some combat skills for techy ones like Electronic Countermeasures (Jamming) and Radio (Scramblers).>I start with one of the most powerful suits of power armor in the game. Its starting gun is a shotgun-railgun that can fire up to 5 kilometers away and does enough damage to one-shot a Jumbo Jet 7 times over. Also the book explicitly says I'm hailed as a hero and settlements will give me free ammo and repairs.>I'm a 12 ft tall birdman demigod. I can fly, I have superhuman stats across the board and more ISP and PPE than most dedicated caster classes, and I automatically know all physical, sensitivity and telephaty psychic powers and all fire warlock spells. Oh, I can also open rifts and self-resurrect.>I'm a forger, I can forge fake documents with a base 20% success chance (+5% per level) but to compensate I can't take cybernetics.
