You can maybe get 300 bucks for it, but you're responsible for shipping it, and you're liable if it doesn't arrive in good condition, and the guy on the other end can just decide it's not what he paid for and send it back (possibly damaged again en route) because PayPal are 100% for the buyer and nobody else.

Something like this happened to me, new item sold, returned used, had to return the money and hold onto a worse item I couldn't resell.

buying CRTs on ebay is full retard, both price wise and the fact it will not arrive in 1 piece. every single day on fb or reddit i see some retard buying a CRT online and it showing up smashed to fuck.

if you want one just be happy with whatever one you can grab for less than 50 bucks from some old lady cleaning out her garage. dont be some retard that thinks he needs a PVM or a certain model

Zero. It’s tranny manchild slop.

Isn't it weird how Jigglypuff was shilled a lot back in gen 1 as the Pikachu for girls? It's not even that important in Pokemon Red and Blue, not a single named npc uses one, you can easily miss it, Clefairy a few steps north is a direct upgrade and yet it got a recurring appearance in the anime, got into fucking smash (pretty underserved)

Eevee in contrast has actually become the "Pikachu for girls" without any first installment weridness shilling necessary, just by pure merit of its design.

Is Boulder Dash the first collect-a-thon?

>>12259463
Boulder Dash as well for the DECOsette, the one he posted isn't a port. There's also the Max-a-Flex system in 1984, but that's a modified Atari 600XL playing iirc unmodified software so judge that as you will.

Then there's Galaxy Game which is contemporary to Computer Space, but unlike Computer space doesn't add anything to Spacewar! so I'd say it is a port. Only issue there is that it's a bit of a stretch to call the $120k, 730kg/1600lbs PDP-1 a "home computer".
>>
>>12257492
i also have this even tho i sold my c64, def the GOAT cover

>>12260483
i had the amstrad cpc version as a kid, its is without a doubt the best version, and ever so slightly superior to the max-a-flex version. on the amstrad the colours a slightly better and the sfx also sound better, the intro music on both versions sound pretty much identical, level layout from what i can see is the same.

the fact they were both done by the same devs obviously helped.

>>12262137
C64 version is hands down the best version because of the sheer volume of hacks and user levels that are released to this day.
>>
>>12263172
>doesn't have proper scrolling
smooth scrolling on the amstrad wasnt easy to achieve like on other systems hence why it was either sub-par or non existent (still better scrolling than some you see on MSX), still the game has nicer brighter colours than the other versions and it plays at the same speed as the arcade.

the c64 version is very good, but its slightly larger scale on screen than the arcade version and it plays slower, which is why i rate it lower than the other versions, while the atari versions are superior when it comes to smooth scrolling, the brighter colours on the amstrad are nicer and the AY-3-8912 sound chip cant be beat.

>>12263308
>C64 version is hands down the best version because of the sheer volume of hacks
the boulder dash construction kit was released for most systems, the c64 has a following that is bigger than any other 8bit so goes without saying it would be the best in terms of replay value. in my opinion its still the best looking port on C64, just not the best version in terms of colour/sound/speed/scale.

I just learned that the Japanese version of this game has two additional difficulty modes, eight (!) additional ending images, and a gallery where you can view all of the endings you've unlocked. The game remembers whether you prefer Stereo or Monaural sound between sessions, and you can skip the long introductory sequence with a single button after beating the game once.

The American and European versions of the game have NONE of these things.

>>
>>12263952
You get less health and ammo in hard mode, that's about it. Makes low percent runs an absolute pain though.

It's way more fun on hard mode. The bosses are fucking trivial in normal mode. I just rebeat it two days ago.
>>
>>12263625
>you can skip the long introductory sequence with a single button after beating the game once.
pretty sure that's still part of the us version. unless you mean on a new file, in which case i don't know. why start on a new file though? they give you an item tracker even if it's not per area like zm.
>>12263649
there is but it's not perfect.
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4907/
you don't unlock the photos for adult mode (not that big of a deal since those are the us ones) except the ones that are shared with child mode. not sure about the 1% ending screens.

I'm not trying to make anyone look like a retard, /vr/ has bias on every side, I just find Nintendo more prevalent on both /vr/ and the internet overall, if you watch YouTube you'll think N64 and Game Cube were a bigger deal than PS1 and PS2, for example, just how SEGA fans can often make the Saturn or Dreamcast seem like it was a bigger deal than they were.

The skinny... if your willing to overclock things can get dicey on n64 psp and dreamcast. games will run here or there. N64 you can play pretty reliably, only a few games have some problems mostly rareware shit. Dreamcast i really only got SA 1 & 2 and Rayman 2 so idk if thats an ok benchmark. Same with psp i doubt something like the god of war games or gta is gonna run ok. But ape escape and daxter run absolutely fine. Side note ps1 runs fine.

is the weakest argument one can have against a video game.
Pic very much related because it's hard as a rock, yet quite rewarding for its time on a handheld.
My problem with Battletoads is the controls are floaty and the hit detection is off, so that means it's a broken game, so losing to that doesn't even count. If I could just do what screen seems to be telling me to do like in every other game in existence, I'd play it and maybe even git gud enough to beat it.

>>12263916
Nah. If I'm curbstomped by first stage then later levels are always increasingly bullshit for no reason.
And if it's easy then there's often a guaranteed spike on 3rd-4th stage.
It's therefore valid to drop and call out slogs that rely on the above.
>>
>>12264284
OP here, then what game fits all of that, yet is worth it to stick out and play to the end?
>>
>>12264065
Ecco 1 is okay but has a lot of annoying bullshit. It's obtuse and the map sucks and some jumps you have to pull off are obscene. Better off using an out-of-game that shows you where to go next. I don't care if that's not how the designers intended it to be played; it's a slog without it.

Ecco 2 is better in every single way. The 3 future alien levels suck though and I recommend a guide for those as well.
