Why? Is it just that you have a shitty attitude, or do you actually have ideas about what's wrong with it? If you already know your weak points, just work on them
>how do I make it look actually good?
You don't. You move on and make the next one a little better
>>
>>7938211
pardon my attitude I didn't mean to sound like that, it's just that I am a bit peeved about it since I don't know how to make it look better. I want to draw a better one from scratch of course but don't know how to improve it hence why I asked here
>>
>>7938317
Ha I'm just giving you shit about it since I do the same thing. Just try to relax, improving takes time
Honestly cleaner, more confident lines would go a long way to making it pretty and more readable. Try sketching lightly, then rolling over with a kneaded eraser to lighten the lines. Then refine and pick a final line

A limited palette forces you to be creative with how you lay down color and some understanding of color theory.
>>
>>7934221
>>7935129
good values
>>
>>7934221
So much of color theory is just advanced value control. Once you learn color value then it can you can puke random colors onto the page and they won't fight each other for your brains attention since their values will be within the same range. Just squint you eyes and look at the image. The biggest point of contrast is stone henge. The field in front is just noisy and colorful when you look at, but as a whole it's all relatively within the same value range just adding variation in value.
>>
>retro
Where?
>>
>>7935129
It is intentional but if you can't recreate these color palletes naturally then you don't have enough experience and you should gain it through experimentation. Otherwise go find a color pallete, perhaps for the zx spectrum or something.
Good thing about indexed color programs like grafx2 is that you could change the color pallete later down the line

Copying is for practicing observation which is what a /beg/ needs first.
Studying means to break it down into simple shapes/forms so you can actually redraw it without a reference (which requires observational drawing as a prerequisite).

Is it POSSIBLE? Yes. Is it PRACTICAL? No. It takes extra time and effort to emulate analog in digital. Brushes can take you 70 or 80% of the way there. The rest is putting in the extra work to make it LOOK analog, which is a tricky, time consuming thing.

>continuous overlapping line drawings

For drawing bodies, I'd recommend more gesture drawings and blind contours. Study clothed bodies, skeletons, and clothes.

Honestly just keep drawing cartoons and focus on simple shapes, BUT you NEED to draw them with 3d shapes in mind. Once you feel comfortable drawing cartoons you'll have the ambition to move on to more complicated anatomy.

It's the opposite. You need some sort of inferiority complex to be really good at something. Like the best rulers in history are all either illegitimate or worked their way up. The best bodybuilders have crippling body dysmorphia. Tiger woods could never please daddy etc.

It's baby first fighting game pick but SFII Hyper Fighting, it's a pretty sweet spot for all the jank you'd find in other versions like CE or ST and overall it's a solid fighting game even to this day.
I also enjoy SF Alpha 2 and MK2 but I am still bad at them, and GuileWinQuote is right, Vampire Savior is really good, my favorite characters are Anakaris and Rikuo, I've also played Last Blade series and it plays/looks fantastic, I'd recommend trying it.
As for figthing games in general, I'm also biased about Soul Calibur II/III and MK Deception (Deadly Alliance plays better but there's not much to do), the side content makes it good as a solo experience, and although a it's not a fan favorite I love Tekken 4 overall aesthetic and feel, it's a really good looking PS2 game.
It probably shows but I'm not interested in playing anything new, I do watch
>SF6 "high level" gameplay
aside of throw loops there are some cool mechanics in it, it's also a bit sad people think of it as an ugly game, I kind of like it, the new Avatar game looks neat too.

I really love anime but I hate it when the anime's story telling is like
>Hi I'm main character and my friend standing next to me is info dumping about how my dad is an asshole and I'm next in line of being the heir to his business but I secretly am doing X, Y, Z. Then after they're doing info dumping to the audience I'll tell them to shut up like I knew that already and scorn them for breaking the 4th wall.

There's got to be better ways to write out your story than the same low key copy paste technique. Anime requires good writing from a respected writer, otherwise you'll notice this tropey pattern. Nothing wrong with familiar tropes, but this is the thing that makes me roll my eyes.

First sketch in like 8 months feels good to draw again

Do you consider drawing a distraction? I think this has a lot to do with wether you are in the mood to draw or not.
I was talking with an anon about this, saying that I see drawing more like something like meditation, while he was saying it is a distraction. Maybe meditation itself is a distraction, who knows?

It's difficult to pin point, because when you draw, you are basically just looking at a blank paper for most of the time, struggling with your own thoughts.
But then again, you also can watch other stuff while drawing, on the side.

I would think anyone can agree that watching something like YouTube can be considered a distraction. You have a screen in front of you and watch something on the internet. That's a distraction. But this also can become boring, just sitting there the whole time looking at a screen with people doing something.

Now if you start drawing at the same time, you basically can distract yourself from the distraction of looking at your screen. So basically drawing becomes a distraction itself then, right?

If you just draw in an empty room, without a screen or anything, then drawing basically also is a distraction, but not a very good one. It requires a lot of discipline to just work on a paper the whole time with nothing else to look at. But if you have a screen with somethung running on the side, then it's basically a decent distraction, right?

A big reason for people not feeling in the mood to draw is that drawing requires a lot of patience. But if you rather view drawing as a distraction, then it basically shouldn't require any patience anymore.

What is your opinion on this? Is drawing a distraction or not?

Distraction from what? Your day job, personal issues, life in general? I find it very strange to call art, or any other pursuit people like to engage with, a distraction. Sure, you might doodle during a boring meeting or lecture as a distraction, but as a hobby or perhaps a side job drawing is the thing you focus your energy on. Anything that requires discipline and cognitive skills, be it as a hobby or as a job, is something people often strive to do because they want to, because it's fun. Why would it be a distraction?
>>
This is the Distraction. This is what you need to stop. The only thing that's worth anything here are the Torrent/refs, there's no solid critique advice nor recommendations that's worth distracting you.

If youre worried about being serious find a better place to spend your time. Your environment dictates how your mind is shaped, what you consume shapes you and the majority people here are begs, permabegs, coom artists and schizos so choose which one you'd like to be.

Videogames also can require discipline and cognitive skills. Yet they are a distraction.

If you don't post the painting there's no way of knowing if you are on the right or not

Post it over or fuck off

I believe that as your work sells, it demands a higher price, because you become something of an investment commodity (cringe).
So that first sold piece is a big deal, even if it's cheap (for now).
