I found people to play the game with by first attending a tournament back in 2021 and then finding a store to play at when I moved out for university, which happened to be right near where that first tournament was held. Is there another store in your area? Keep looking, anon. Don't be afraid to go to organized events even if you haven't played the game before, in my experience people are very friendly and are glad to have new people to play with. Just read up on the rules beforehand, make sure your models are painted, and you'll be alright.

The store is open wednesday to sunday from 12:30 to 20:00 and i went there at like 14:00 or so, there were at least 15 other guys there, none of them played a damn game. And yes, they all looked like the stereotypical shy nerd ie either bespectacled or acne all over their face, shitty moustache/pube beard, fat, etc, there's no way they were actually waiting for someone and got stood up, they just didn't have the balls to duel a random man.

I feel like Werewolf as a splat should be changed into "Shapeshifter" or some such. Give people the option to play as whatever & focus on unlocking different forms. Like, I don't see a lot of differences between a werewolf or werelion other than cultural ties & i think it would be cool to have shapeshifting more developed where players & ever the tribes/metaplot/npcs are seeking different forms as a way to gain power or advantage, & you could even have "legendary" or "mythic" forms, like maybe your character after much soul searching & questing unlocks a Unicorn shapeshift or a Dragon one, maybe there's even subsets of regular shapeshifting like "shadow wolf form". Maybe even developing shapeshifting into non-living forms like having your wolf become swift wind or soft rain.

Had a great moment in our session last night fizzle out, I'm wondering if I could have or should have handled anything differently as the GM.

You could've narrated that the goblins are more afraid of Klarg. Or that they're afraid and show it, but it's not quite enough to open the gate. Or something silly like the goblins can't hear the fighter correctly or actually hated the guys he killed so they're happy about it

That's more or less how I played it. I established Klarg as an asshole to the other goblins right off the bat by having him blindly throw a goblin corpse to the wolves from his balcony (not seeing the players), so there was enough reason for me to have the goblins happy that Klarg was gone. There was a failed set of negotiations (mostly because my Barbarian wanted to start a "business deal" that would have the goblins keep doing their thing in exchange for a cut of the profits) that led to a chase to where the other goblins were, then another failed set of negotations that led to a bloodbath. All in all a pretty entertaining session.

Cut a bunch of disciplines. Not even obscure ones, fucking vicissitude got cut.
New hunger and blood potency mechanics that try to force "street level" play (and make no fucking sense).
Humanity is now Mandatory and the systems surrounding it were made much more annoying.
Overall the design is full of the badwrongfun philosophy of a certain old WW writer. It's not quiiiite as bad as W5 in that regard but it's still a game that hates your guts if you want to play anything but a thinblood prole working the nightshift somewhere.
