The Johnson was an excellent rifle. You could top up it's built in magazine with singles while it stayed ready-to-fire. Same as 30-40 Krag.
But it used Short Recoil action (like a 1911) with 30-06. Pretty bold. problem with that was recoiling barrel meant no bayonet. In terms of recoil with same 30-06 round would be bolt action worst. Then the Johnson, Then the Garand. Then like a Remington 74/ 742/ 7400,
Then a BAR.
Marines used quite a few of these in War2.

I suggest you to look up some info about Stalker movie. They filmed the Zone part of the movie in Estonia, in deserted factories and waste cheaps near energy plants. The falling ashes and foamy water you see in the movie isn't props, they're real industrial waste being managed soviet style. Also the director and several people from the crew died from exposure some time after the movie.

This is a report from Major Anon that differs somewhat from your account, Sir Anon
Major Anon reports a number of losses; he says your first lost your head, and replied to an obvious bait post, he says you then lost your nerve, and ran from small group of trolls, he says you neglected to check ten dubs, three trips and a set of qauds, and that you finally lost your sense of honour and deleted a thread you got BTFO in, cutting off a rescue party led other anons
Major Anon leaves the worst till the last, he says you posted cringe.
>The fault was not mine, the Jannies must answer
THE JANNIES ANSWERED WITH THEIR PAY! AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE HAD YOU ANY SENSE OF HONOUR!

The defense of Wiltz during the Battle of the Bulge. The 28th Infantry Division had control of that sector and garrisonned most of the divisional staff in the town but they were so badly decimated from the Hurtgen Forest that when the Germans attacked the band was sent out to hold the town's defensive perimiter and cover the retreat because there was nobody else available.
To the surprise of literally everyone, the band held the line for three days before they were forced to withdraw. Out of 60 men, 3 were killed in action and 35 were wounded or captured.

Who: 131st Separate Motor Rifle Brigade vs Chechen fighters
Where: Grozny, Chechnya
When: 31 December 1994
A 1000 strong brigade was ordered to go into the city without recon or support. Immediately surrounded, but didn't run back. While the rest of the country celebrated the New Year, 980 soldiers died thanks to the stupidity of their command. There are radio recordings between the commander of the brigade and Chechen commander. Heart-wrenching to listen to it, but I guess it's now superseded by stuff coming out of Ukraine both in terms of horror and scale

wow, a 2011, so cool…
The action feels nice (To my tasteless ass) the compensator works pretty well as far as I know and the decision to use P320 mags was pretty smart. I like the style too, if it weren’t for those massive front serrations it would look like something out of aaron beck’s art.
IIRC the hammer and magazine funnel are MIMed and the guide rod bushing is plastic and has a tendency to break. And it doesn’t have a compless variant for the USPSA nerds it’s somewhat marketed towards.
All in all I think it’s an ok gun, i’m sure their margins on the thing are way higher then they aught. But sigs gonna sig, why try to get that last 20% out of a product if you can convince some sucker to overpay for a riced up 2011.

Not particularly. I would like to do a .510" based on a shortened 458 socom. Basically .50AE with a .473 rim loaded with 50BMG bullets for big subsonics. Either that or 510wsm but I'm too cheap to pay for a magnum bolt.

.475 bishop short mag case would be unironically perfect for that…. Rebated rim that fits a .308 bolt face, .584 base diameter and .560 shoulder… 2.9 inch case length but you’d lose some taking the neck off…. Expanded out that would be the perfect starting point for a .510 ar round…. Not sure how obtainable the brass is though…. I’d love to play around with it but I think the company they were buying it from went under… so who knows

In 1700, the flintlock musket was the most advanced standard infantry weapon in the world. In 1800 it still was. In 1840 a capping breechloader would be the most advanced infantry weapon. By 1860 metallic cartridge breechloaders were already taking over.

Different industry that dabbled in 07/02 work because said engineer talked me into it. We made magnesium alloy and titanium sidecharging ARs, but only had samples produced. Engineer got back into drugs after his wife left him made some MGs and suppressors off the books to pay off drug debts, he intentionally OD'd and left a confession. My fault for being hands off on the firearms side, but my options were give up my FFL and agree not to pursue a future FFL, or face criminal charges and fight in administrative court to keep my FFL. I'm not an engineer so I couldn't have kept the business going anyway, sold off the equipment, gave the proceeds to the engineer's daughter in a trust and called it a day. Learned the lesson that once a junkie, always a junkie.
